My weekly grocery bill has gone up by quite a bit recently. I don’t think I am buying particularly different food than before. Rather ironically I have been trying to cook from scratch more to cut costs. I can’t tell if I’m just shopping badly or there really has been another price hike.

Nothing has changed for me, maybe a little bit cheaper.6

Most fresh stuff seems to have gone up by 20p to 50p. But it does depend on what you buy

Nope, I do not think food prices have moved much if at all in the last few months.4

I have noticed quite an increase in the US, even at Aldi's. I tried keeping a price list and many of the items I get regularly have increased by 40-50 cents or more - like precooked bacon, pain du chocolate, mustard, even the crackers and cookies I get. Some items are close to their earlier in the year prices like cheese but eggs are a $1 more a dozen. Nothing I buy has gone down in price.6

I don’t think prices have increased, but every year supermarkets seem to reduce discounts in the run up to Christmas. So overall, there are fewer savings included in the final bill.Fashion on the Ration

I feel like things have stabilised over the last 6-8 months. I feel like 2023 prices were just stupidly insane jumping every few months. Some items have actually gone down or on a better offer.:money::rotfl::T5

My food shops in Sept & Oct were £120 less than preceding months. We do eat differently in summer, especially lunch, and sandwiches are far more expensive than soup.
Try analysing the receipts, perhaps there are bulk items bought infrequently.5 -
Yes I have noticed that I can no longer get butter and cheese from Farm Foods at the prices I did in the summer.
Milk seems to be drifting up 5 or 10p everywhere
Eggs up from £1 to £1.30 at Waitrose
Soups up from 50p to 70p

Butter has definitely shot up lately. Shocked by the price in one major supermarket earlier this week, I had to buy a couple of packs locally this weekend to tide me over until I can get down to the city, and it was a LOT more expensive than the last time I had to do this, maybe 6 months ago.Angie - GC May 25: £74.30/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 21/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)6

I tend to buy mostly fresh stuff and I think that goes up and down according to crop yields. I havent noticed a major difference in packaged stuff though.5
