Now back - it's raining I think, yesterday wasn't a nice day, cold and grey.
We went out yesterday and I did a big shop ( big for me anyway) at Ald*, and went into TKM*xx, I love a look round there. I had some shopping vouchers that I could spend there, so bought a few items.
Glad your shopping trip was successful TA.
Hi MollyWindley, nice to see you.
I'm another one who can't remember all the previous days posts - sometimes it just has to be enough just to wish everyone well!
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.10 -
Morning! Been up since six ish but been pottering, drinking tea, seeing to the cats. The little princess wasn't well yesterday, vomit everywhere, luckily most of it was on tile, but not before it was walked through because neither of us saw it. Base units are fitted but I've already taken a gouge out of one end panel [ hoovering up the sawdust, ym bum knocked a support bar, luckily it's on the inside and wil be covered by the dishwasher. I'm quite excited now, even just one of the cupboards is still bigger than what I have now as worktop. Amassed some cardboard from that so I'l take that to the allotment today and do some pottering, make a new compost heap etc. OH is off to paint his mums porch in exchange for a garden storage thingy, and the mince, which never quite made it to herby dumpling stage, will probably turn into a hotpot affair instead.Rosy, would a cache clear help? Scarlet, glad you enjoyed your jaunting and voucher spending
Take care all to come or reading along

Morning all
I’m another who can usually only remember one thing from previous posts so it’s not that I’m ignoring everyone else!A very tiring and sometime challenging week at work so I’m glad for the weekend. Off for a stomp up the Shropshire Hills with a friend to get rid of some frustrations and enjoy the fresh air. Sadly it is STILL grey and misty/cloudy - haven’t seen the sun for about 2 weeks now……supposedly Monday is the day!Have a good wekeend

Good morning, grey again.
Yesterday's shopping trip was successful in that I remembered the list, looked at it and only bought what was on it (well apart from the pannetone that fell into the trolley).
Not sure what's happening today, apart from watching Strictly tonight. Burgers for tea.
Have a good day all, take care x9 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I had, what is for me, a bit of a sleep in this morning! After a long string of sleepless nights it was most welcome. Needless to say I got up to another dull grey day. Yes ALLIE they say Monday is the day for a bit of sun here too!!
I had youngest DGD here last night for a sleepover which was lovely. Once of a day I felt they all three lived here! Hard work at the time but I miss those chaotic days. She is still in bed but I expect an order for a three course breakfast when she surfaces!
I had planned a shopping day to resume my gift buying but that's now postponed! I like TKMAXX too Scarlet but our branch is only a small one compared to the one in the retail park we went to on Thursday where I got a lot of my stuff.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies (especially the poorly cats and dogs) the sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8 -
Morning all - I made it into the shower, most reluctantly because the morning is cold. Last night I skipped it, not quite sure why, so it had to be now. Got a coffee in hand and starting my day.Probably because I was a tad bored (sorry to those who are run off their feet) I indulged in a little online shopping - a new bag, a new cookbook, a new pair of pyjamas for me and a couple of gift sets of dessert sauces for friends. These are made on Gigha, a small island which is run for the community by the community. Their herd of cows give the most delicious milk and the farmer uses it to make ice-cream and now added in dessert sauces (not made of milk!). A bit of money juggling was also done.A large pot of lentil and leek soup was made, portioned up and bread taken out of the freezer.ready for the coming days. I really must use up the stocks more. Oh, and I changed four inkjet cartridges in my printer, I remembered to wear nitrile gloves this time.Today there's a Christmas fair at one of local'ish villages which I'm tempted by. I'm not usually tempted, somehow this one looks good. It' a definite maybe. It's not really the weather for walking here, as I begin to feel better I am hoping to restart my activities, t'is a pity that autumn is leaving and winter drawing in. I don't mind walking in the cold but the wind and heavy rain are really not inviting.Hugs and good vibes to all those who need them or want to stock up.

PS - Yesterday I read a news report about the Westminster government considering subsidising baby milk formula and it took me down a rabbit hole. National Dried Milk was promoted by the post-war regime to feed up babies. I remember it particularly because my very MSE DMum collected some empty tins and made a pouffe out of them - I think it was six in a circle with one in the middle, padded on top and covered in fabric. Probably my older late brother was fed it as he was (I've been told) a difficult child on the breast. I took to mother's milk much more readily so didn't need it.Anyway, I found a photo of the tin, it brought back a lovely memory of sitting on the blooming pouffe and it squeaking until DMum disassembled it, fortified it and reassembled it. Perfect size for a young child to sit on and perfect recycling.9

Morning all, don't tend to be here on a Sat. morning due to DGS football but it's a later kick off today.I'd actually have preferred it early as we have to be at the restaurant for DN 'do' at 1.30. I'll do my nails before we go out, then it's just a quick hair do and change when we get back.Ended up taking my new trousers back for a refund last night, didn't like the fit, and they didnt have the ones I usually get, so I finished up going through my wardrobe and did a spot of ironing, be fine!I shall try a cache clear thanks @taff@TravellingAbuela, nice your DGD stayed, but I know how you feel - before DS2 bought his house, the DGC used to stay here with him 2-3 times a week, a madhouse but I loved it!Right better get those nails done- have a good day all, and at least I don't have to cook tonight:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all from another dull dank day in Mehefinland
Nothing much happening at the moment. Seemed to have run out of steam although I did repurpose a few things to my dog walking friend ( some syringes, tummy stuff for dogs, a brand new beanie with built in lamp which I know is too tight for me and some mitts) . Cleared out the first aid box too - so many ood bits and bobs. I will have to replenish at some point but our local pharmacy is only open Mon - Fri and I don't fancy the trek into the nearest town.
Considering booking a tip run as seem to have accumulated a load of dead printers and other electronic stuff. could put it by the front gate and it will disappear quite quickly but I would still have the other stuff to dispose of so may as well take the plunge. At least since the local council instigated a booking system it is not a scrum at the tip although the access road is dire - so many potholes!!
Pleased to see our primary school at the village war memorial yesterday at 11 am. I think it is so important that they observe this, and the school is keen to continue the practice. Will be there tomorrow again for the Remembrance ceremony. I won't attend church this year, or parade to the memorial but quietly pay my respects. It was something we did as a family for years, with my dear old Dad proudly standing with his medals and a tear in his eye. DS took over the role as companion with me until he moved away. Dawn came with me for the first time ever last year. It will be a strange day.
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning everyone I won’t mention the weather yuk . Taff good news about your kitchen you will soon be all posh you will not know what to do with all your space . Who doesn’t love TK Maxx we have a small one not to far away but the big one about an hour away is so much better and brighter the small one is so dark . Gers love the story of the pouffe i like hearing about things people made and how they managed my grandchildren drive me to distraction the amount of stuff they waste and just lose interest in I went to help my daughter in law sort out the spare bedroom yesterday as it had become a bit of a dumping ground after having some work done on the house I was annoyed at how many clothes make up and hair bows and clips I found just dumped in boxes some had never been opened and has a lot were gifts of people they were told it’s money as presents now why should people be thinking of gifts and spending time and money on them just to be forgotten about they will have wished they never seen me now but I was annoyed it’s so ungrateful but the charity shops will be benefiting from them now because that’s where it’s all gone . Little dog is back to her normal self she’s had a couple of treats so anything now will just be her stretching it out to see how long she can play on it . I will have to watch strictly tomorrow I’m off to a concert tonight as my granddaughter is in the choir and has a part in the orchestra she’s a busy girl. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8
