I have Acronis true image.
I made backup image of my computer a while ago, but is on my Hard drive in Acronis secure zone which i made on a partition on said Hard drive.
Now i have a large external hard drive is it possible to move the above back up into a new location on external hard drive.
All i can see in the contents is to set up a new location, make new back up and delete the old partiton.
I know original backup was done before rest of family got to use computer and it was running great.
Although computer seems fine, i didn't want to lose original backup.
Hope all this makes sense!
Can anyone enlighten me, thanks.

You should have a .tib file, which is the acronis backup file. There maybe also an .iso file, if you created a 'rescue disk' at the sametime. Simply drag and drop those files using Windows Explorer to your new external drive.
You should be aware however, that the rescue disk may not depending upon your version of acronis and the connection type to your external drive, be able to restore your drive. For instance, if the external drive is a usb device and you run the rescue disk it may have problems restoring from the usb device.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
Sorry, but i dont know how to open the partition on my hard drive so that i can move the .tib file across.0

Are you saying that you cannot get access to the new external hard drive? If so then maybe it has not been connected properly or more likely needs formatting.
If you mean that you are unable to get at the partition containing the backup file then you might have to look at how you created the partition. Maybe it is a security issue with admin rights or ownership involved. I can't help you there but it is something you can investigate.0 -

Sorry, but i dont know how to open the partition on my hard drive so that i can move the .tib file across.
Click Start\Search - Files and Folders search for '.tib' files. Once the search function finds the image, simply drag the file from the search window to where you want it in relation to your backup drive.
