Will this result in CCJ? Help needed please

Hi,

I have the following letter after a PCN back in 2020. Please advise. I’m not sure what to do now it’s got to this stage. I sent a response to court from the previous letter saying I defended the claim. (I bought a ticket and still have it but put my old car reg number. So in my view I paid for the parking)

you need to read the newbees thread.

but chances are you won't lose in court

and even if you do you only get a ccj if you dont pay

As long as it was defended, this should end in a discontinuation. What exactly did you put in as your defence?
  • I put that I bought a ticket. Sent a copy of the ticket covering the times. And said that I put my old car reg on by mistake. I sent them a copy of some car documents showing the two car registrations and that I was changing one for the other.

So should I complete this form? Do you think they’ll just discontinue?

    Thanks very much

If the CNBC posted that letter to you, you should follow the advice in the newbies sticky thread in announcements, second post, and the 12 steps in the defence template thread in announcements too

Download the N180 pdf from the gov website, fill it in following the instructions in those 2 threads and email it to the DQ email address for the CNBC in Northampton, before that deadline

You are in the middle of a live court claim, nothing to do with a CCJ

There's nothing on that form to fill in. It is just a notification. However, if the N180 DQ form was included, then you must fill that in. Don't use the paper one. Download one from https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/66a8b019ce1fd0da7b592f43/N180_0724.pdf and fill it on online and then follow the instructions as advised in the second post of the Newbies/FAQ thread for sending is and copying in the claimants solicitor.
  • Thanks, yep attached to that letter is an N180. I’ll have a look and fill out online. Thanks for your help

Every single question in the DQ is covered in the second post of the NEWBIES thread.

Pinned as an Announcement at the top of this forum. You need to read the second post of NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST, which we won't link.

No link needed as you have links back to page one, on every page.

You need to prepare a witness statement and evidence (see NEWBIES thread...WS stage will be in 2025).

But soon, at Mediation stage (in the coming weeks) you should offer £20 because this was a major keying error that would have seen £20 offered to end it, had you appealed.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
