BW Legal Customer Portal

Hi
Just wondering if I should communicate with BW Legal through their portal or send a letter in the post instead & stay clear of the portal.
I am informing them that I have written a letter to PPS (as advised by Debt Recovery Plus Ltd) because I did not receive the original parking notice with a £60 fine. I have recently received a letter from BW Legal asking for £170.
I have asked PPS for photographs of the vehicle with times on it as the driver who did buy a parking ticket doesn't think they overstayed their time slot as shown in the times on the PCN. Which does show an overstay of about 25 minutes.
Am I correct in thinking that these cameras catch people out by taking photos as the vehicle drives in & again when they drive out - therefore you are not paying for the time actually parked but the time the vehicle takes to drive in & out of the premises?
I am prepared to pay the £60 for a quiet life but not £170.

No your completely on the wrong track sorry
Stop thinking about paying
Read the Newbies2 -
You are NOT prepared to pay £60.
Don't say that (except you might want to make a LOWER offer - say £30 - at court Mediation stage after defending the claim when it arrives).
You can use the BW Legal portal at this stage (pre-action) but don't start admitting fault nor offering money! There is no risk in letting them issue a useless claim.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi - I have looked at the Newbies & regarding the first template one size fits all.
The notice received does show photos of the vehicle driving in & driving out of the car park. It also states that the reason for issue is Session expired.
Do I still put "I require an explanation of the allegation and your evidence. You must include a close up actual photograph of the sign you contend was at the location on the material date as well as your images of the vehicle". Our ticket does show an overstay of 25 minutes from the time difference between it & the PCN times. Am I just asking for duplicate information to be annoying? There is also no email address on the PPS PCN so I am having to write a letter.
There do seem to be quite a few parking signs which I don't know if they are compliant.
I don't want to go to court as it will probably cost me more than the parking fine & it will also cause me a lot of stress that I don't need as an OAP.0 -

Not if you win or they discontinue which is the outcome of 99% of defended claims. How much do you think it would cost if you were unsuccessful defending a claim?
BW Legal is in Yorkshire so if I had to travel to a court in Yorkshire it would cost me more than £170. The parking time seems to have been exceeded unless the times they have recorded are incorrect, so is it possible to win.0 -
Any claim actually heard is in YOUR local county court, not the claimants. Many claims are heard by telephone or video link. Your fears are unfounded.2

I'm also retired and have been to court hearings. You can see this out without a hearing.
And you do not have to write a letter to appeal. But if you are getting BW Legal letters, you aren't at appeal stage ... so why did you read the first post of the NEWBIES thread, which is only for first stage PCNs?
Read the second post of the NEWBIES thread. That's your stage. I am not writing a letter of appeal as such. I was going to write to tell PPS that I did not receive their PCN & there are no other contact details on the PCN.
I am not retired, I have a busy life & want to sort this matter out ASAP.0 -

I have an extremely busy life. Don't think of me saying I'm 'retired' as twiddling my thumbs...!
