As we all know prices have been rising. I have renewnal via a broker I use. Its £320 that includes admin fee and legal cover. My reason for a broker is that I have tree that is approx 5m's from the house. And it seems very few companies seem to cover you for that.
The question is do I need specialised cover will any old company cover me? Or am I being over cautious
Hope for everything and expect nothing!!!

Only some companies ask about tall trees in the vicinity of the property; if they dont ask and there is no assumptions you have to agree to about trees then you would be fine to insure with another company1

Will vary by company, for the AA they ask about trees over 10m tall within 5m of the propertysmudge_72 said:

HomeProtect didn't ask.... I found that odd personally, as we do have trees (though they're just outside of the 5m distance / 10m height zone of concern)

Its a minority that do ask but given everyone gets quotes from aggregators who have to ask the questions that all the panel want (at least all but the smallest providers) and so seems more common.James_Blonde said:HomeProtect didn't ask....
