Morning all. Usual dull weather here.
I had a busy day yesterday but today I'm only due to meet a friend for morning coffee. We'll have a natter and I'll pick up any shopping bits whilst in town.
I'm making enchiladas tonight, with a kit I picked up from the Larder for 35p. Not done them before but I had some chicken in the freezer plus red onion and peppers in the fridge so I hope we like the end result!
I'm almost ready to switch over to my new laptop. I had to buy some more cloud storage as I was very close to my limit and there are still things saved on here that I need to move on. I've also got a fair few recipes saved in favourites that I should print off so must get on with doing that. The fact that this laptop no longer connects to the printer means I've got to email them all to myself so that's what's putting me off!
Stay well everyone and hope you all have a good day.9 -
Morning all from gloomy Mehefinland
Gosh I know this weather is 'settled' but I wish it would settle with some sunshine!! Not been up to much. Had a pallet load of shavings delivered yesterday and the driver got it nearly to the barn so it wasn't too far to carry the 42 balesand stack them. At least I won't have to cart them across the field in a wheelbarrow later in the winter when the ground is yuk.
The search for the elusive jewelry and a certain little envelope continues. The bag which I thought might be it hidden in the wardrobe was something else entirely. It's frustrating, not because I want the items, but I want to know they are safe. The envelope contains an early Victoria 1/2 sovereign. The 'portrait' is of her as a young woman, not the surly dowager type of later years. Apparently a whole stack of these were found in a safe in Switzerland some years back where they had been stored and forgotten about. Makes you wonder what other gold treasures may just be locked away around the world.
The little dog who lost the eye has gone home last weekend. The owners were marvellous about it, and even brought flowers for my friend. She got rather emotional as she still feels she is to blame, but they took the view that it could have happened any time and it was unfortunate it was when she was looking after him.
Really got no get up and go at the moment, but need to get motivated as I have a trustees meeting for our library tonight which I should attend. We were lucky to get some funding from the Co-op member scheme so we need to decide how it is to be spent, as it is not allowed to be used on running costs. We are thinking outdoor seating etc.and possibly a new front door.
Hugs and spoons as always
Derek

Morning all, dull & grey weather still. Finished putting my shopping away, and keep on checking my email for a message to collect some trousers from marks that I ordered for going out on Saturday for DN 21st but nothing yet.Izzy, hope little dog is better soon, and sympathy re the vet cost. Our bill last week was £265, and I don't think we're finished yet but she is a big dog.DGS was coughing a fair bit when we picked him up so I think DS was going to give football training a miss. DGD rang me late last night when I was in the shower asking for help with her Maths homework
- I'm not exactly the best when it comes to that particular subject! By the time I got back downstairs and rang her back she didn't answer. When DS2 popped here this morning he said it was ok, she'd figured it out with help from the internet & strangely enough that's what I did when I took a look out of curiosity
I did meatballs and mushrooms last night in the sc. I had to improvise some garlic bread for DG, toasted a crust, buttered it and sprinkled a bit of garlic powder on it. No complaints so must have been ok. Fish goujons tonight , I'll have leftover meatballs.Time for a cuppa- take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Good grief Izzy, £38 for 4 paracetomol! That's terrible! That's one reason why we don't have any animals now, the cost of taking them to the vet.
Grey, damp and miserable here, darkish as well.
Beef curry in the slow cooker , now to sort out something for tonight.
Enjoy shopping TA, I too haven't done anything towards Christmas. I suppose I should start.
Glad you've got your ears sorted out Gers.8 -
Hi, I've posted here before but never manage to keep up with things, but you were so supportive of me when I had some medical problems and I never forgot you all.....I'm now signed off sick for 3 months and pottering around at home waiting for an op, so I thought I'd make lemonade out of the lemons I've been given and come back here and post!
It's awfully grey here in the East of England, but still dry, I hope to get ds3 ( young adult with autism living at home) out for a little walk this afternoon, in the meantime hoping the light is good enough to take a few photos for ebay, I am getting rid of any clothes that aren't frequently worn, it doesn't make a lot of money but it's an enjoyable way to de-clutter!11 -
Hello everyone
I'm last... I had to go out for some shopping this morning before work so I was good and didn't switch my laptop on so I couldn't get distracted.
Eldest DD rang earlier to share her good news - she's been promoted at work so will be a senior designer from January - very proud mummy!
Little one has managed school the last two mornings and stayed till 1pm today so that's good news - hopefully she'll get on to full days next week.
Molly - welcome back - I'm busy selling - or at least trying to - on Ebay and Vinted. I've had some success this week, especially after I discovered people will buy empty Lego boxes - unfortunately I only had two to sell!
Rosyred - little one hadn't been at school long when I had to ask her what 'subitise' meant when she was doing her numeracy homework - and I work in a nursery!
Snoozer - glad to hear the family got back home safely, I hope Esben enjoyed his birthday.
Right I'd better get washed up, then it will be a cuppa in front of the TV x

@-taff Before Whisky was put on Metacam for her arthritis, I put a house brick outside her cat flap so she didn't have to struggle in & out, maybe that would help Fatty?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
