2yr old pc dead CPU

We bought a £500 Lenovo ideacentre desktop PC.
now exactly 2yrs old and out of warranty.
basic PC, low usage, non gaming.

developed fault with no display output at all.

contacted Lenovo but they not really interested

sent it back via their repair investigation. Department for confirmation of fault.

they have confirmed CPU is totally dead

cost to repair would be the cost of the PC

is it reasonable to expect a manufacturer built Pc to reasonably last a good few years

lenovo are just saying basically tough, it is out of water entry therefore they won’t do anything

is it worth progressing or give up

Any actual statutory consumer rights you have (i.e. not warranty claims) are with the retailer rather than the manufacturer, so did you buy it direct from Lenovo?
