UKPC Parking Fine Disabled Space

Hi Everyone,
ON 02/04/2024 i parked on a UKPC disabled space because I needed to take out of the car my 1-year-old baby. In that specific car park, there are no Family parking spaces to allow me to open the doors and the general parking spaces are too small as I have a big SUV.
On my 1st appeal to them , I explained this in writing and they declined it as I was not having a blue badge. i have made the second appeal on their website with pictures attached - with me in the car park showing that you cannot open wide the doors to take the child out and they never responded to my second appeal.
Their solicitors started to call me to force me to pay the total fine of £170 and I told them that I was waiting the decision on my second appeal,
Today, I received the letter that they sent me to court and I need to pay a full of £262 and I still don't have a decision on my second appeal.
I want to also specify that I have been in that parking space for less than 15 minutes and I have proof of receipt I was also considerate of the disabled parking spaces and the other spaces were not occupied.
What should I do?

Parking in a disabled space without a BB, can sometimes be problematic, a judge may find for the PPC. I would try to settle out of court for a lesser amount.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1 -
It is not a fine.
Accessible spaces are provided for people with disabilities who have protected characteristics as defined by the Equality Act 2010. Unless you or a passenger had such a disability/protected characteristic, then you should not have parked in an accessible bay, no matter why, nor for how long. When you parked, you had no way of knowing if the other accessible spaces would fill up and the space you were in would be needed by a disabled person during the time you were away from the vehicle.
Sadly, this is one of the reasons why PPCs exist.
It is unclear from your post whether you have already lost in court, or are being taken to court.
If you were taken to court, lost, and received received a county court judgment, you should either pay it in full within 30 days so it is not registered, and therefore won't affect your ability to obtain credit, or request a set-aside if you believe the charge/claim was issued unfairly.
If you pay after the judgment is registered, even by using a payment plan, a CCJ will be registered and affect your ability to obtain credit for the next six years.
If you have received a Letter of/before Claim, or a court claim, then you may be able to mount a defence because UKPC signs are always inadequate and incapable of forming a contract with a motorist. If that is the case, then you should get photos of the site and signage.

I suspect that she has not yet been to court. Recently I made made a claim and it took over 15 months to get a hearing date. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1

If that's the case, please tell us the Issue Date on it.
Also, can you please show us a picture of the Particulars of Claim - with all your personal detail hidden of course.
It that's not what you have received today, then please tell us, or show us, exactly what you have received today.2 -
What on earth are "Family parking spaces"?Operators have to provide accessible parking spaces for the disabled there is no requirement in law for what you call Family parking spaces, utilising a disabled space for your convenience is not allowed and this is why PPC's are engaged. If the car park isn't to your liking you should find one that is, or drive a smaller car, not block a disabled space.UKPC do not accept a second appeal, and were never going to accept anything you wrote, there's no money in it.The next stage appeal was POPLA and they won't allow mitigation either you would need other procedural or signage arguments. There are ways you may get away with this you will have to look around the site, but you look like you are entering the court claim stage now, and a judge won't accept that excuse you posted earlier.

You can't use disabled bays just because you have a big car and a baby. You had no right to a special bay.
Parent & Child spaces are merely retail gimmicks to hook you into shopping there, not a legal right like a disabled bay is. If there are no gimmick bays you must never use a disabled space.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
