Caxton paid out on January 31st minus 20% tax. I am told I now have to wait until the end of the current tax year before I can obtain the tax certificate which will enable me to get a tax refund. It's not been easy!

And unless you need to file a Self Assessment return for some reason you will need that certificate.

HMRC are starting to be much stricter about claims relating to taxed interest (amongst other things) and require evidence.  The link refers to PPI interest but there have been other posts mentioning evidence being required for taxed interest that wasn't PPI related.
