Horizon parking ticket advice
Ihatehorizon
Hi, I was looking for some advice about a parking ticket from ‘horizon parking’. Compete utter scum bags firstly. I picked a friend up from a premier inn and was about 30 minutes entering the car park to leaving the car park. A week later I received a fine through the post because I didn’t pay parking, they have cameras which detected me being in there. Being a private company and looking online I chose to ignore it. They’ve not sent debt collectors chasing me to pay the fine. Being a private parking company I was under the impression that they weren’t allowed to follow up, or have no authority to enforce their ‘fine’? Does anyone have advice? 1

It isn't a fine and the info you require is on the Newbies thread.Where did you find outdated advice online to ignore it?Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid2

Ignore the debt collectors letters
They detected the vehicle, not you
Of course a private parking company can try to get a PCN invoice paid, if necessary by suing you in court
Ignoring a private PCN from a private parking company has not been advised for 12 years

Hi,
sorry for the new threat - yes I have looked at post 4.
I’ve looked at post 4 and followed the steps however the response I got back from horizon parking just said the letter from post 4 was irrelevant and it’s been sent to debt recovery plus.Debt recovery plus have sent their final letter before ‘the possible court proceedings’.I’m just reluctant to pay the fee. It would be an easier pill to swallow if I’d stayed over night at the hotel or actively chose to ignore knowing that I needed a ticket, but I was just collecting my friend the night after a wedding and was in the car park for 32 minutes to be exact.Does anyone have any other advice?

You say "yes I have looked at post 4".
I assume you mean you have read the fourth post of the NEWBIES thread.
That post explains exactly how to deal with debt collectors letters, but to summarise it - ignore debt collectors letters. They are harmless.
Apart from that, why have you started a second thread about this Horizon parking incident?
Please keep all discussion about one parking incident to a single thread - it helps maintain continuity.

You should stick to the thread you started about this issue.1 -

Im new to this, I don’t really understand what I’m doing, I didn’t think it would be that much of an issue so I’m sorry.Thanks0 -
I emailed both horizon as well as debt recovery plus the prewritten email from the newbies thread and got a response saying that email doesn’t do anything for me basically and to pay. They’ve not sent their final warning before court summons, do I still ignore the debt collectors letters?Gr1pr said:Ignore the debt collectors letters

There definitely will NOT be a summons, not in these cases
There is never any reason to deal with the powerless debt collectors, none at all, so ignore the debt collectors letters

There are no threats of a court summons, never happens to anyone in private parking company cases, Never gonna happen
Threats of a private parking company suing you using the Civil justice system are real2
