For a 7yo 72k car I wouldn't bother. For a new or nearly new car from a main dealer the service plans can be good value. Part of the benefit to the dealer is that your return visits give them opportunities to sell you another car.
Although part of the deal with my service plan is that they collect and return the car, so no visit to the dealer!
They could drop off a demonstrator for you to use while they have yours.
  • The eMac ones are usually pretty good especially in terms of refunds. I have had a few policies on different new cars.

The Evan Halshaw plans tie you to using their dealership.

Probably more cost effective to use a trusted local garage or specialist on a 7 year old car.
