Wifi

 Just set my up Netgear wifi router. My lap top connects straight away using WPA2, the problem is my desktop doesn't / can't connect. I've taken off the security and it connects. I've hard wired the desktop through the router and that works.
Any ideas how I can get the desktop to contect via Wifi with security enabled ?
The desktop uses a Proxim ABG card.

Are you using Windows Zero Point wireless software or Proxim's own software? If the latter you may need to update the software (possibly the firmware needs updating either way). Assuming you've typed in the pass key exactly.

Does this Proxim ABG card support WPA2? What OS is in use on the desktop?

I'm using Proxim's SW. My OS is XP.

Not really answered the questions. Not all wireless adaptors support WPA2 and is the XP fully updated?

Just tried WEP 128 bit - Works OK.
Turned on wireless station access list - To allow my desktop only - Works OK
Disabled Allow Broadcast of Name (SSID)

Will this be enough as regards to security ?

MAC address filtering and hiding SSID do nothing for wireless security, so you are basically asking if 128 bit WEP is secure - No.
