Problems with www.onlinefx.com - do I take legal action?

Hi all,
At the start of October I ordered over 600 GBP of travellers' cheques from https://www.onlinefx.com as they have been recommended elsewhere on these forums. I requested them to arrive in mixed denominations of USD.
Instead I received a massive wad of cash - Thai baht, not in mixed denominations either - so it wasn't even close to what I had ordered (by telephone).
I telephoned the company and asked if they would like me to return the cash in person as I was in London where their office is based. They said instead that I could return it by Royal Mail Special Delivery. They said that they would refund me the money - at its original exchange rate - and the cost of the special delivery postage. I did have an uneasy feeling about it at the time as they didn't seem at all bothered about the fact that they'd screwed up my travellers' cheques or caused me a major inconvenience. (I went elsewhere for the travellers' cheques in the end)
Anyway three months on and they have still not refunded the money nor have they replied to an email complaint. The tracking facility with Royal Mail Special Delivery shows that the package was received and signed for.
I would welcome any advice on what to do next. I am travelling for 6 months so any bureaucracy (like a small claims case) can be quite tricky to overcome while I am away. However obviously for that sum of money, I will have to overcome it if there are no other options.
If anyone can help, or would like any further information, please don't hesitate to ask! Many thanks in advance... and have a happy new year...!!

Personally I would send them a 7 day letter making your intentions perfectly clear, stating that you have taken legal advice and that unless the money is refunded within that period then you will be left with no alternative but to proceed with legal action against them adding all Solicitors and Court costs incurred will be added to the outstanding balance plus the right to charge interest. Fax or send it recorded delivery and keep proof that it was sent.
Hopefully that should do the trick.0 -
