No Fault Eviction

FlorayG said:You can serve notice if you intend to sell - but then if you can't get a buyer once it's empty I think it's 12 months before you can change your mind and let it again
My reading of the bill is that it will be 3 months.
So a 'positive' interpretation of the bill might be...- If the landlord wants to sell the property, they can evict the tenant and put it on the market. If the landlord tries selling it for 3 months, but can find no buyer, they can let it again.
Or a 'negative' interpretation of the bill might be...- If the landlord wants to get rid of a tenant, they can still do so, if they're prepared to have a 3 month void (and pretend to be selling), and/or move a family member into the property for 3 months - before letting it again
To clarify - the bill proposes 2 relevant grounds for eviction...- The landlord wants to sell the property
- The landlord, or a close member of their family, wants to move into the property

the new law being drafted as i understand it means that your landlord will be banned from serving a section 21 notice and giving the tennant just 2 months to up and leave for whatever reason the landlord decides.this is very good law and all good landlords should not mind this as there can be no peace of mind for someone renting there property.landlord as has been said in this thread can ask the tennants to move if they want to get out and cash in or they wish to move in themselves .me personally i would give the tennants maximum 18 months to find a place and pay for all there removal and rehousing costs out of my own pocket0
