Problem with house electrics

Our house has had an 2 storey extension, done before we moved here. The original part of the house electrics are linked together and all the electrics in the extension are linked together but all go into one consumer unit.
This morning all the extension electrics are off. The original house electrics are on.
Nothing on the consumer box seems to have tripped, we have turned the main consumer box switches off and on, but the electric isnt coming back on, not even a quick flash. Any suggestions please.

Any photos?
You're probably looking for a trip switch on the original consumer unit that feeds the extension consumer unit.1 -
We have one consumer unit for all the electrics. The switch on the left has always been down.
There is awhite box to the right of the consumer unit, which we've never opened.0 -
Open the box it looks like a mini CU to me.1

Thankyou so much, that's what it is. Weve just never opened it.1

As I thought it is your CU for your extension. The RcD has tripped which indicates a problem with the wiring or one of the devices on it. Unplug everything in your extension reset the RCD. Plug in one device and turn it on to see if it trips again and repeat for all of them. If it trips when you do this you have found the culprit, if nothing does it try switching on each light switch to see if that triggers it.2

The RCD has tripped (big switch on the right). Push it down, then up to the top.
If it trips again, turn off one of the circuits (levers on the left) to see if you can isolate it.2 -
Thanks everyone, id already unplugged everything and took all the light bulbs out as we had a problem at our previous house with a slow leaking fish tank.
In future do we have to turn both units off to turn all the electricity off?0 -

At a guess, these may be feeding your secondary consumer unit. Would need a close look to be sure...Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.1
