Is my guarantee still valid after refund?

I recently had flooring laid throughout my property and, long story short, there were a multitude of issues because it was laid so badly.
i fought for a proper repair or full refund and ended up settling for a refund on the fitting and a bit extra as a ‘goodwill gesture’.
now, a few months later, there is a new issue with the flooring - the laminate is completely bowed in 2 places in the living room.
os my guarantee still valid? I had a years guarantee on fitting and 5 years on product and flooring was fitted 7 months ago.
thanks in advance for any advice.

Depends on the terms of the guarantee, you will have to read them and check.

If you received a refund for the fitting then the product guarantee should still be valid. However this may depend on the terms and conditions of the company. That said, your statutory rights still exist and the product itself is covered by these.

However - is the bowing caused by the bad fitting? In this case it's not a fault with the product, it's a further fault with the fitting.

Finally you say "my property". That's an unusual term for a house. Is this your own home, or is it for some other premises? If its not your own home it's likely to be a business purchase and the rights are quite different.

You’re going to have to look at the terms of the product guarantee and ascertain the cause of the problem.  I would think it more likely to be the fitting at fault, rather than the product, and if that is the case, then you’ve already had that refunded and I suspect the product guarantee is only valid if the product has been fitted correctly.  Bowed laminate is usually down to the floor not being levelled properly or there being insufficient expansion gaps at the ends of the rows of flooring.
