Morning all. Still pitch black outside, damp and on the chilly side of comfortable.
My trip yesterday was successful and swift. Amongst all the tartany offerings in the Scottish gift shop I plumped for a pair of bamboo socks with Highland cow motifs and a smallish almost cuddly cow too, apart from the wooden horns. I had to think about my niece packing to go back home to Australia soon so things had to be small, then I remembered how obsessed she was with the beasts when here in February- job done. 😀
This morning I'm off down the road again on the bus. Meeting with niece and nephew who are both flying up from different places in England. They've organised a late lunch together then a show at Glasgow Concert Hall called 'The Night Sky'. Given that I love watching and knowing about the stars it should be interesting.

Good morning, thanks Gers for starting.
It's damp here as far as I can tell, not particularly cold.
I like a Scottish gift shop, the woollen things are usually nice. The cow you bought sounds lovely.
DH's family came from Fife, and they have a dress tartan and a hunting tartan, I like the hunting tartan best.
Hope you enjoy the show, I'm sure you will.
We went shopping yesterday and bought the minimum since we didn't have the car. Not much happening today.
Hope everyone is ok and has a good day.
Take care folks.14 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Another dull but dry day forecast for us.
I'm all at sea with the days this w/e. Because the SS was yesterday instead of today I kept thinking it was Sunday for the rest of the day. Today I am thinking it's Monday. It doesn't take much to confuse me.
No plans for today other than a Sunday of Sloth. As I had yet another sleepless night I will probably have a nana nap later. Have a more exciting day than me folks and ((HUGS)) as always for our poorlies, fed up or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning All
Overcast here but it's due to be a relatively dry day, I may put the bedding on the line for a while and see how it goes.
Your gifts sound to be just the thing Gers, enjoy lunch and the show with your family.
Hope you get your car back tomorrow Scarlet.
I cleaned the living room yesterday and moved furniture about, not sure it really works but it's fine for now. The front bedroom got a good clean too as DS2 and DP arrive on Thursday.
Not much happening today, may take the kitchen door latch and handle apart as it seems to be sticking, just not sure what size I need to get so will take it along to Screwfix to see, they are always very helpful.
Hope everyone is well and you have a peaceful Sunday. Take care. XX8 -
Good morning Gers and all who follow. Very dull outside but at least it's dry. Heard all the fireworks last night but strangely enough big dog was not at all bothered by them. He even went out for a wee while they were going. I'm so glad about that as having had a dog that had to be sedated in the past it's so upsetting to see.
Today is bed changing day, it must be my most hated job. It got me thinking how many beds I've changed considering I used to work in hospitality so it'll be a few.
Roast chicken today with plans to use the chicken up over the next couple of days. I'm hoping to get 4 meals for both of us from it, we'll see.
Have a good day whatever you're doing, hugs to anyone who needs them. Take care x12 -
Morning all from a damp and dull mehefinland
Finally got my bonfire lit in the field yesterday and got rid of all the mouldy hay and broken pallets which had been festering in the barn. Lit it a 7.30am and it was still smouldering at 1700 with a few bits of elder still to go which I had thrown on for good measure. Place looks a smidge tidier now.
Out to tea tonight!!! Said I would take an apple charlotte - it's my go to recipe and is a crowd pleaser. My friend Hele was most insistent that I should go, and as she is taking me to the horsepital for eye clinic tomorrow( not allowed to drive because of the drops) it would have been churlish to refuse.
Not been sleeping well all week and even with all the physical activity I have been doing whilst the weather holds dry hasn't made a difference. Things on my mind no doubt.
Got a tax rebate on Dawn's pension on Friday. Not a massive sum ,but better in my pocket than theirs. Ironic in that no sooner had I received notification that there would be a small pension payable some weeks back, in the next post was a change in my tax code as a result. Talk about Peter and Paul!!
Down to the library at 11 today to fix a donated tv monitor to the wall. That will be funThere is an across Wales new library system being implemented this month so it will be used for all the necessary training for our volunteers (and me).
The garden beckons so I will wish you all a good day whatever you are doing. Hugs and spoons as always

Morning everyone I love highland coos Gers I’m sure she will be pleased with the gifts well it’s damp and dreary here it will be housework and cooking today I went on the bus yesterday to get hubby a battery in his watch no joy some how he has got water inside it and it has gone rusty inside was going to cost a lot to get it fixed so he is on the lookout for a new one . Remmie my little dog is going deaf so we have had a better year with the fireworks it’s terrible to watch them get so distressed it wouldn’t be so bad if it was one night or weekend but it’s day and night for weeks.i got one bus to Darlington yesterday and the next bus back I couldn’t be bothered there was nothing i needed and you just end up spending for spending sake and I really need to tighten my belt. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all, thanks for starting Gers, enjoy your trip.I'm shattered this morning after a horrible night with our bigdog. Remmie, pleased for you, our previous dog liked watching fireworks, sadly not Ly1apooch. We had some sedation from the vets but she was still pacing and panting and trying to hide behind the chairs. Finally dropped off around midnight only to be terrified again at 1.30 by about 10 bangs that sounded like bombs. Did I mention I hate fireworks !!Yesterday we did a tip run, & the hospice shop- they'd had their quota of donations yesterday and couldn't take any more so we nipped a bit further along to the SA one who were very pleased with our old bar stools and juicer
Called for a few bits at a nearby Aldi, including a beef joint I'm going to pop in the sc shortly.
A bit later we are going to visit our friend who has broken her arm, I bought a box of choccy bics to take with us.Apple charlotte sounds good Derek.Hope you all have a good day x

Morning everyone
I had a lovely quiet day yesterday - I wrote a list of little jobs and got them all crossed off and then read for most of the afternoon and had a nice chat with DD in Germany. She is in Hamburg to take part in a Hyrox competition today...google it it's a very strange activity if you ask me! Especially as she never had any interest in any sport until the last few years - she hated PE as a child.
Also had a good chat with little one - they had been to soft play with friends. She's taken to ringing me to talk about our days, which is rather lovely.
Today I'll go down to mam and dads for a cuppa and to write dads email to eldest DD, then I have no plans other than to tidy the garden a little and read my Sunday Times.
Hope everyone has a good day - Gers enjoy your show. x

Morning all
Dry here and fairly mild no rain due unfortunately as they may have stopped the village fireworks which are tonight, little pup hates them and shakes so much and we have to make her a cave up with her bed and a blanket over the top, big pup hates them too but barks at them and she has a very loud bark ! They have some natural calming pills which do help but I do wish it was just for one night and not weeks and weeks.
Dinner today will be some pork chops with roasties and veg with gravy kind of a mini roast as there is just OH and I here dd is working a late shift.
Dogs to be walked later and then maybe an afternoon film.
Gers enjoy seeing your family and the show xxx
Have good days all and take care xx10
