Good morning Scarlet, like me, up early. OH and big dog still asleep, lucky things.
Today my jobs are to fit all the food I bought yesterday into the cupboards and freezer. So much for just getting bread and a couple of other bits. My downfall was going for a look around Morries after Lids. I don't go there often but the traffic was diverted so I went in there while the road cleared (well that's my excuse). My goodness how the prices have risen, didn't stop me though. Lots of things bought to be put away for you know when.
Nothing else to report, have a good day everyone x12 -
Morning folks and thanks SCAR:ET. It promises to be a little less mild today but still acceptable for November!
I am feeling a bit scalped today thanks to the hairdresser ignoring my request of not much off! Oh well it will soon grow I suppose.
Supermarket Sweep day has been brought forward to today as DS and his DP are tripping off to Leeds tomorrow to make a start on their Xmas shopping. Other than that I have no plans but the windows are still waiting if I get bored! I think the window cleaner is due next week so I must get them done before then or they won't look any better for his efforts.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, fed up or lonely. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning allWell getting myself wound up about all the problems the dentist would have getting my ground down tooth out was a waste of time. I was in the chair for about 10 minutes and with a little bit of pushing and pulling she got it out and it was all over. I think she'd done this before
. I think having different procedures done over the years by some good and bad dentists sent my worries into overdrive.
Bed changing day today and then will make some rock cakes (not for me though!) and then making some space in the junk yard, err I mean garage, to put DH's telescope in there so its there when he wants to use it instead of it being up in the back bedroomTake care all x11 -
Good morning again.
It seems to be damp outside, with loads of wet leaves everywhere.
We haven't a car at the minute, it went into the garage yesterday to have a new something or other fitted, hoping to get it back on Monday.
We weren't planning on going far this weekend anyway, and we've got our bus passes if we need to travel anywhere.
I wasn't out yesterday, well, apart from visiting a friend last night.
I must do a bit of shopping today though, there's not much needed.
Glad your little dg d is almost back to normal Dp1, it's been a long haul.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible , take care folks.12 -
Morning everyone I’m going to jump the bus to Darlington soon it will be only the second time I have used my bus pass and I’ve been retired 8 months I don’t want anything but hubby is out playing golf all morning and he needs a battery for his good watch and it’s the nearest place for jewelers that do watch repairs it’s just over an hour to get there on the bus I will have a mooch about the shops and if I stay in it is just cooking and housework. It’s very dull today and a lot cooler but strictly to look forward to tonight. Chirsca I’m pleased the dentist was better than you thought it’s somewhere I dread going bad experience as a child I don’t even like going for a check up . TA I’ve never met a hairdresser that listens to me yet the one I go to now is a lovely girl talks constantly and never takes a blind bit of notice of what you say so I just go with it been tidy . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Yesterday's trip up to Oban was again another quick whizz then, once at her house, we had a coffee and chat with her almost healed husband. They reckon that all will be back to normal by the middle of next week.I'm going back up there shortly as I want to buy a gift for my Aussie niece. She and my English nephew are flying up tomorrow to take me to a show so I'd like something for her to take back when she goes home early next year. Not anything to dust or eat!I hope that everyone is doing well, keeping warm and not overdoing things (Nan and Taff especially).11

Morning everyone and 'thank you' for starting us off Scarlet.
The weather is grim here this morning. I usually go for a walk, so fingers crossed the rain stops soon.
Hope you all have a good weekend. x10 -
Morning all. Dull but dry here so far.
Had a quieter end to the week and got some tidying up done in the garden, We had a smart meter fitted yesterday for our electricity so now I'm going round switching things off and on to see what difference it makes to the costs on the display unit. I'm sure I'll get bored with it soon!
I played for one of my Morris sides last night at the re-opening of a pub in a village not far from Aylesbury. It was absolutely jam packed with people so I hope the business keeps going. Someone else there was telling me of 2 pubs in other nearby villages that have closed recently; times are hard.
This evening I'm off to Limehouse Town Hall for a Morris Ale and then I'm staying the night with my son and future daughter in law. DS is on call at GOS Hospital this weekend but one of them will collect me from the tube station around midnight.
It's quite mild here so will get out to the shops before too long. Hope everyone has a good day and things go to plan.10 -
Morning all,I thought it might be a brighter day today- but no. When I let pooch out last thing yesterday the skies were clear.Had another appliance break yesterday- my carpet cleaner
I was doing a rug upstairs and I saw smoke starting to come out and smell.Switched off pronto!. It would seem it wasn't extracting the water from the rug, or it was going somewhre it shouldn't, so I had a soggy rug. I ordered one online to collect from the retail park after an hour, so I put ithe rug in the bathroom with the window open, the gave it a going over with the new one.
DH got a new outfit for DNiece's 21st next week as we were near N ext.We collected DGS from his mums before tea yesterday and took him over to DS.The front door was wide open so I thought his DM had left it ready for me, but no. I did knock but no-one came so shouted and went in, DGS and mum were playing in the back garden and was shocked when I said it was wide open. Apparently he knocked his ball into next door and went to get it and didn't shut it!He told me about his Halloween, went with his younger siblings and mum, and got quite a few treats. We didn't have any callers, not many children here.No football today so the day is our own. I think there will be some fireworks tonight so will give pooch her tablets later.I might make a few more Xmas cards this afternoon, but we may take the defunct cleaner to the tip first.DP1- so glad to hear little one is getting back to normal.Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone
Just having my breakfast and the washing machine is chugging away, though it looks quite damp outside, hopefully it will brighten up later. I have a shopping delivery coming between 9 and 10am, so will have that to put away. Other than that I have a list of little jobs to work my way through and then plan to spend the afternoon reading, unless a little girl turns up.
The meeting for dad went well yesterday - he was very chatty and answered everything he needed to. He doesn't qualify for continued health care, though it was decided he needs two carers each visit in order to move him safely, which I've been pushing for since he came out of hospital. It seems likely that he'll be changing from the care company he's been with for years to the one who has taken on the two respite afternoons, which both him and mam are in agreement with.
After lunch I popped into town for a look round the charity shops - I bought myself 2 long sleeved tops and a lovely little cardigan for little one from M and S for £1.50.
Thanks for all your good wishes for little one, it's so lovely to see her back to her usual self, after being ill for so long. Just hoping she manages ok back at school next week.
Right better get on, I hope everyone has a good day x10
