EDF energy BACS payment issues for Feed in tarriff

I have LPA for my elderly mother, who has been waiting since June for EDF to sort out their BACS payments so that she can receive over £500 for her solar feed-in.  They say it's an issue with their payment system and want to issue a cheque, but !!!!!!?! I can't believe their shareholders are receiving cheques for their dividends, so what's going on? Has anyone else been waiting for their payments?
