Cannot make any contact with Microsoft

Hi all,
Microsoft have got my X box warranty wrong. It should be 12 months but they have said it ended after 8 months. I have tried contacting them but it is impossible. When I request a call back I never get one. When I get the chat box no one ever replies. When I call the number it tells me to go to the website. A never ending cycle. Is there an external body I can complain to about this?

You can complain to them - there’s no overseeing body. But what’s the background to your complaint - it seems odd that they’d set a warranty to 8 months without some background ? Was it a replacement unit and you’ve misunderstood the warranty situation ?0

You might find that the retailer is able to help?0

In a nutshell, no.
What's the problem? If you have a problem after only eight months you could (probably should) use your consumer rights rather than warranty, anyway.
When did you buy it, from which retailer, and how did you pay for it?1 -
Hi all, thanks for all your comments. I bought the X box (with controller) from Amazon. I have the receipt. The issue is that the controller is faulty and as it should still be under warranty I thought I would try and get a replacement0

Did MS not explain to you why they think it ended after 8 months? Did you ask them?0

Go back to Amazon.
Was it a 3rd party on their marketplace? Could be it was a returned item where the warranty was registered before it was returned. Very naughty of them to resell it as new if that was the case.0 -
Thanks all. Situation resolved. I went back to Amazon as the retailer after finding it impossible to contact Microsoft who hold the warranty. Spoke to Amazon straight away and they have credited my account with the amount for a new controller. So a good outcome, but fact remains that it appears to be impossible to speak to anyone at customer services at Microsoft. Seems to be a very common problem with them.0
