Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, can't believe it's November already.
It's a bit damp and breezy out this morning and a bit colder than it has been. I had a delivery of coal yesterday so can cosy up by the fire in the evenings.
We will have a very tired school full of children this morning after Hallowe'en last night, hoping for a smooth and quiet Friday! I'm out this evening with work colleagues, some who no longer work with us so should be a good catch up.
Hope you enjoyed your walk and talk SO.
Well done on the hay clearing Mehefin, sounds like hard work.
Hope you're feeling better Nanny and taff.
How's the little one doing dp1?
Washing is up to date but there's a few things to iron - that's tomorrow's job.
The results of my bloods, etc, were all clear so I've now to go for an ultrasound although I have improved somewhat by eating little and often - it could still have been the tablets for my yucky toe nail, we'll see.
Have a happy Friday, take care. XX11 -
That's great news @Camelot - and a relief too. Enjoy your Friday night with friends, sounds perfect. My nail appointment went well. The woman and I always have interesting chats, sometimes touching on her and her family being JW, so no Halloween, Christmas or even birthdays. Yesterday I was telling her about Rocky Horror and how Jason Donovan was taking the lead, she'd never heard of him! This morning I'm on shopping duties for my friend again. Her husband had his first full shower last week so is on the mend, the wound on his foot looks dry and clear.Hugs to poorlies and a gentle squeeze to those who are sad.11

Morning folks and thanks GERS. It looks cloudy out there but no rain forecast and mild for the 1st November!
I am getting jaded with all my stupidly early wake ups now. They seem to have got even earlier since the clock change. As soon as I open my eyes I know just what time it will be. Grr. Soon it won't be worth going to bed.
Friday Tidy today but first I have the hairdresser coming to give me a good trim - but not too good I hope as I don't want scalping! DF managed to get away for our lunch meet fortunately as I think it does her good to offload her worries and woes. She must have the patience of a saint with what she puts up with as her DH sounds so unpredictable and it's seemingly impossible for her to get anyone to listen.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It seems to be quite nice weatherwise.
TA, I've thought before that it's not worth going to bed. I slept pretty well last night, for me, but only because I was on my knees because of a run of bad nights. I feel for you.
Glad you're a bit better Camelot.
Remmie, 6 tins of butter beans! I'm not a lover of any bean, except green beans, but butter beans are the worst !!
Hope you enjoyed the walk once you got there SO.
Taff, your photos were lovely, that decorated tree! I love fabrics as well, the colours, textures and pattern.
I'd better get myself pulled together to start the day, 1st November already, unbelievable.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.11 -
Good morning, thanks for starting us Gers. November..... how has that happened, it seems like only yesterday it was February.
Getting light here and another dry day forecast. Not as sunny as expected but at least it's mild , I'm still wearing t-shirts during the day, only putting a fleece on in the evening. Wood burner just ticking over so saving on fuel.
Off to Lids today for bread and a couple of other things for over the weekend. I have a chicken in the freezer so plan on roasting that for Sunday. Yesterday I made mincemeat puffs with a pack of ready rolled puff pastry. OH says they've like mincemeat croissants.
Ruby, we had pork chops last night also, but had garlic mash and peas.
Camelot, good news, hope you keep on improving.
TA, you are such a good friend to let your df offload, she must feel so much better for it.
Taff, the soups I have are the chunky meat and vegetable type, so I think they will work well in a casserole. My friend always puts a tin of beans in her stews, she says it improves the flavour, I haven't tried that though.
SO, hope you enjoyed your walk
Love and hugs to anyone I've forgotten, have a good day all x9 -

Hi everyone,
It was Nate day and he was on very good form after being ill last time we saw him. Steve's sister was astonished at the amount of fruit he puts away. Yesterday he had a mango, an apple, an easy peeler and a grapefruit which he ate with gusto and without flinching.
Laura sent pictures from Iceland of the snow they had yesterday, they stayed put and used the swimming pool although a lot of the people they were with drove 2.5hours to go dag sledding. L and B had done that several years ago in Norway. Then Esben got to see the Aurora thankfully because he's resisted all attempts to wake him up when it's been good here and then been upset.
Sil is going home today.
Have a good day.10 -
Morning all
Dry here and fairly mild no rain due which is nice. I am off for electrolysis this morning I think it will be the last visit for a while there are just two stubborn hairs to zap so hopefully a quick visit.
Not sure about dinner tonight there are a few choices so will have a think - maybe Fahitas. I have a wash on the go and another to do after. This afternoon I am going to have a lovely long bath and then a rest with a film, dd is supposed to be on lates but I am not certain if she will go or not as she felt unwell yesterday.
Dogs to be walked later and I will give them some of the calming treats as there is bound to be fireworks this evening, the village display is on Sunday so they will need some then as well.
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Morning! Grey, misty and a bit damp, but no rain which is good because I'm getting my bench and saw out to chop up some wood both for beds for the allotment and for kindling. Which means it's time to find my metal hatchet [ very cute and very sharp] and drag the big bin down the front to fill it with the kindling. I might get round to cutting the grass too hopefully. Still not completely well [ the runny nose and hacking cough linger on] so I will be taking it quite easy. Thanks Floss, I will give that a go when I've used up what I've got otherwise my garden will be full of Justins again
And I must order some wood for the woodburner. And work out what I need for Christmas cake ingredients. I think I have seven to make this year.
camelot, fingers crossed it's just the tablets, but it sounds hopeful. Gers, I'm sure there are plenty of Neighbours fans from the eighties whod be horrified at thatremmie, I was asking because I thought I'd try the condensed sou as a sauce thing, so I tried out Marry me chciken with that, but it was quite salty. I usually stick a tin of borlotti or cannelini in a soup, the borlotti especially have a particular taste that I love. Izzy, you and me both tightening - just had the final bill from the builder
Ruby, with you on the firworks..the fox was really scared last night, hope she found a nice hole to hise in for them...Take care all, shout to the poorly, hats and coats and gloves to everyone else, stay warm!

Good morning everyone
It's grey and drizzly here, just like the last couple of days. I've not posted recently because I decided I had to do something about my back fence. My husband built it about twenty years ago but the wood had started to rot and given the high winds we are likely to get, I decided action was needed. I got a good quote and the company came and fitted it in less than a week after quoting. So one job off the long list, still need to paint it though.
Popping into town this morning for a couple of birthday cards and a few necessities and then out to lunch which is a nice treat for me.
Thinking of the poorlies and the sad
Take care x8
