If tbey charged the amount they quoted then they did not overcharge.
They claim to be cheaper than a main dealer, not every other garage.
You could find another garage that charges less than you local gargae.
A tin of beans is dearer in the corner shop than in a supermarket but you canlt ask the coprner shop to pay you back the difference.

ok so SS have responded after almost 2 weeks. The garage are saying they’re unaware of any damage (blatant lies as they took photos before and after) and want to take the car back to assess
i did not trust them to look after my car but this has just made it worse
what are my rights in getting it fixed locally with a garage that I trust ?0 -

looks like you’re saying that the garage can just do what they like and I have no rights at all !!

looks like you’re saying that the garage can just do what they like and I have no rights at all !!
As stated, you don't have to do anything, but if you choose to get it sorted somewhere else, it's going to be relatively easy for the garage to dispute your passing the cost onto them.1 -
