The old stylers LOVE a bit of soup TIW!
Same here, although with a piece of flank mutton coming in at £9.50 a kilo broth is in danger of becoming gentrified.

We should lobby supermarkets to import frozen minestrone.
The medley mix is a saddening and tasteless bore.

Anathema, freezing homemade minestrone the pasta becomes a bit unpalatable when it is reheated.

Cheers, FreeBear - recently bought a slow cooker, so will check that out.
    Fancy making some chunky soups.
Thanks to the weather getting colder, we have started already! So far, lamb cawl soup, chickpeas & lintels soup, and last night mince (as I was busy with work)!

To OP's question - if ventilation is a worry, do you even need windows? Would an extractor above the bifold doors not suffice?

    Concrete or steel lintels ?
I would imagine both would be pretty tough to swallow :p
