    NO you can't change someone else's will
    I think this happens a lot, people make a will, fall out with a beneficiary and then forget to change it
    Your father doesn't actually KNOW what your mother would want if she was cognisant and that's the reason he's not allowed to change her will
    Mirror wills don't have to stay the same though, he can change his own will any time he wants so that if he dies first he doesn't leave anything to your mother to be passed on to someone he no longer wants to inherit
  • Not to exclude anyone but my in laws were in a similar situation. All the assets to each other on death. She didn’t have capacity to change her will but he changed his to go to the children because she wouldn’t be able to do anything with it. In the event she died first and then he died two months later.
