Vinted and integrated RM postage - a general observation

One of the main complaints I have had, along with many others on Vinted was the issue about using Royal Mail as an option. Unlike ebay (although the new model they have mentioned will follow the Vinted model) Vinted send a pre paid label or QR code after a sale, and as soon as that label tracking shows item is delivered buyers have 48 hours to raise a complaint before sale is finalised and seller gets their money. However if a seller offered RM then they just got an address, had to buy the label themselves, upload proof of postage and wait for item to show as delivered. Once delivered there was no 48 hour window- instead buyers could delay confirming OK up to 21 days- at which point Vinted stepped in and closed the sale . Only once the sale completed did seller get paid for item and a set amount for postage. This delay meant that quite a high percentage of buyers refused to offer RM - I certainly didn't offer it on Vinted.
Earlier this week Vinted appear to have changed the system and now offer only integrated RM alongside the other couriers. As with other couriers Vinted send a pre paid QR code, that is taken with the label to a PO or RM locker that has printing capability and label is printed and uploads a receipt to Vinted.
For many of us this is absolutely perfect, exactly what we wanted - but it has raised quite a few complaints from those people who for one reason or another, be it disability, location etc can't get out at all. Previously they could opt out of all integrated couriers leaving just RM, then buy their postage online and have it collected- and the new integrated QR codes do not have this facility at all.
I'm posting this as this is all over other forums, lots of misinformation and upset and I don't have a thick enough tin hat to venture posting there. Vinted don't announce things, they just do it, often crashing or glitching the site at the same time (If you think ebay is bad for glitches then I recommend you don't go near Vinted) even this change has resulted in some sellers seeing no postage options at all! Whether this new postage option is going to be the only way going forward or whether when they sort the glitches out they might bring back some element of custom postage is unclear, but at the moment there seems to be as many really happy people as there are cross ones.

Can you not book a collection with Royal Mail separately, even if you don’t buy postage from Royal Mail? I’ve booked collections before in respect of labels provided by someone else e.g. retailer return labels.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

Need help to understand vinted postage please. A friend has sold a few clothes to the same buyer and chosen Evri. Normally if she sells one at a time, she puts in a normal mailing bag. But this lot of clothes weighs over 1.4 kg without any packaging and will be over 3 cm deep. Not sure if she can put all in one pack without worrying about size or weight. I could not find the answer on vinted. Can anyone guide please?0
