so he got the quote days before buying the car... he is 20, went from a Corsa to a Leon. there are only 3 months left on his policy. he has a clean licence, but not quite 2 years no claims.
the quote and initial payment happened on the 30th Sept. car change on the 5th Oct. 9th Oct Admiral tried to take over £500 and say thats due monthly. the investigation by Admiral states they made an error and all of the information given was correct.
What are quotes elsewhere looking like?

There is certainly an argument that they should waive any cancellation costs if insuring elsewhere is materially cheaper. If it's much more expensive than original quote from Admiral elsewhere too then there is potentially more of a debate but it really comes down to how obvious it should have been that there was a mistake.

You didnt answer all my questions so may not be worth asking another but was the quote done on the phone or online? If it was on the phone then there is more of an argument that it want obvious to the operator that ti was a mistake then it really isn't going to be obvious to a policyholder who has much less experience of Admiral pricing
