We had an outing to the Swedish shop today. It was utter chaos from start to finish and we are both wiped! We did however go armed with a list so most of what we came home with was planned spending! Next time we have vowed to order online and have it delivered!
We had breakfast and lunch there for under 15 gbp for the two of us - I'd forgotten how affordable the cafe is!
@edinburgher - I'm blaming you for the breadbin! - I'm now a certified card carrying member of the club 😂4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! @Baileys_Babe & @themadvix & @Cheery_Daff - I think for me, I'm a very visual person - the visual clues of fancy bullet points equate to the coloured inks and highlighters I use in RL! I miss the days of coloured text on these forums, but I'm not going to enter code every time I want a colour! The bullets also stop me from copying and pasting the weekly list over and over just to check things off which would make for a very repetitive diary!
@Cheery_Daff - thank-you so much for the reminder, I know I need to take it easy, but I have a huge desire to keep busy so lots of tidying and cleaning are happening!
So in this morning's burst of tidying, I put on a load of laundry, shuffled around potted plants on the patio to accomodate a new potted heather on the bistro table. Went with OH to the doctor for his appt &then we had a potter around Waitflower & picked up some food and an onsale brolley to replace the posh one of the umbrella saga!
Home for a few hours to have lunch & tackle all things thorny in the garden - pruned several of the heritage roses, cut back some of the raspberries, pruned blackberries. Pulled up bindweed and started taming the rosemary. Then another trip out for my chiropractor appt & OH's bloodwork.
While gardening, I was dismayed to find that them of the plastic grass (next door) have been at it again while we were away, and have cut through every branch on the rose I'm training onto a free-standing trellis, so that it is now not attached to my trellis at all! I've gone through every curse word in every language I know and it is still not enough to describe what they have done to my garden. Their fence in that area is 4 foot and they regularly reach across to steal rosemary to cook with and highly scented roses for their house, despite my objections. Guess the security cameras really do have to go up now, so that I have proof down the road! I can see myself having to request a restraining order, given thier past verbally abusive behaviour! Grrrrrr!

I would be fuming if my neighbours were doing that! Plus planting the boundary with something thorny and inedible ….!! 😉

That's just unacceptable from the neighbours. Sorry you have that to put up with.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

@KajiKita - haha - the border is planted with heritage roses with huge lethal thorns. Several other plants as well but they in particular remind me of the Briar Rose Fairy Tale. I'm not entirely sure why they would brave the thorns, I have special elbow length gloves for when I'm pruning and I still manage to get scratched quite regularly!
@Cheery_Daff - annoying is an understatment - I had OH come and survey the damage & he may have taught me some new words as a result. Mr. Plasticgrass knew we were furious, as he came out in the evening while I was pruning, saw me, turned tail and went back inside.
@greenbee - I was actually admiring that very plant this afternoon near my Chiro's office. Our birds are very well fed, I do laugh as my three closest neighbours put out fat balls and seed for them, but they come flocking to my garden to strip the cherry's, blackberries, raspberries, mystery tiny berries & haws from all my plants. This year I think I've had 5 rasps tops!
@beanielou - dreadful but not unexpected - the entire neighbourhood can't stand them and several have had words with them! They are very entitled & very bad mannered. During my annus horribilis, Mrs. Plasticgrass asked the ambulance driver to move as he was parked in front of her drive & step. He was in the middle of resussitating me & hooking me up to a drip! OH was about to go out and deck her when the driver handed over the drip bag and told him to stay inside with me.
ETA - @cheeryfudge - they infuriate me, but let's be honest it could be worse. They won't stand up to me or OH, they do everything malicious behind our backs. After I stood up to her last summer, she won't meet my eye or even talk to me. Trust me, it's better that way!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! I’m horrified at that behaviour. Makes Mr Self Sufficiency and his children and chickens seem a treasure!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4
