I think you should mention it to the pub as well. Don't mention that you're reporting it and see how they respond. It'll give you an idea of how they're going to run their business.

Could it have been Norovirus? Most of your symptoms seem to line up with that, which can come through food or human contact, or even things like touching a surface that's been touched by an infected person.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Yes, I agree that suspected food poisoning can be reported to the local council's food safety/hygiene team. About 10 years ago, my sister did this after having picked up a nasty bout of food poisoning following a pub lunch. And she was right! Other people had reported it too & it was traced to the pate.
The other possibility is of course norovirus, but that's so catching, it would be rather unlikely that other household members didn't go down with it too.
Glad to hear you are on the mend now. What a waste of a weekend.

Thanks so much ladies for stopping by & offering support and advice!
@Cherryfudge - yup it was definitely that particular meal as I'd not had anything to eat for the 16 hours prior! It was a small meal too - tapas size lamb koftas in tomato sauce with a yogurt sauce and toasted pita bread, a side of seasonal greens (kale and leek) and a pot of tea with milk.
@Greying_Pilgrim - I found the council's contact info! Thank-you muchly for the prompt, I didn't even know it was an option until you mentioned it! Also, your out/in comment made me think of Shr3k - a favourite series of movies in our house! (See below btw! I did indeed send out messages)
@greenbee - thanks for the link sweetie! - I did in fact send a message to both the pub and the council. We've eaten at the pub many months ago for breakfast on the terrace and the food, service and ambiance were excellent. The manager will most probably get back to me, he's a lovely chappy and I'm sure does not want locals to pass word round about a bad experience! I did indeed get something down on Monday - I was ravenous having effectively not eaten anything proper since the Friday dinnertime! I did however loose 5 pounds over the course of the horrible weekend, I'm guessing half of that was water as it's back on now!
@Cherryfudge - definitely not Norovirus! OH catches everything and he's been absolutely fine! Due to my depressed immune system, I'm also super paranoid about germs. I commute, so use hand sanitizers & dettol wipes on flip down trays! (I'm a regular purchaser of super hydrating hand creams as a result) I also am one of those people who don a mask at the sound of a mere sniffle or hoarse throat of my fellow passengers, avoid the busiest rush hours, try to sit on my own and shun anyone travelling with children! (Paranoid? not me 🤣 - ok maybe just a bit - I don't do public toilets either!)
@Cheery_Daff - thanks for stopping by hunny - I hope your sofa surfing week is going ok!
@foxgloves - thanks for the reassuring story my dear - it's always nice to know that reporting does something! I'm suspect of our council as they are slow a molasses to respond to anything and in my opinion work bankers hours (10-3). You are quite right in saying it was a waste of the weekend!
On that note, I'm still desperately trying to catch-up with myself so worked from home today to get things done both workwise and personally. Several of us who work together are a bit stressed by the deadlines this week so are trying not to interact and get on each others nerves. Even so I got a message from the bosslady after 6pm (she's currently in a different time zone!), reminding me to send some messaging I'd forgotten about - YIKES! - I apologized profusely and got on the translation right away then hit send so that everyone has it in their box first thing in the morning! I start later in the morning than most, so it had to go out this evening.
Personal catch ups fared a bit better, we've prepped and frozen some veg, I've got a healthy lunch ready for tomorrow & my body feels less stressed than it did yesterday and the day before!
ETA - sorry @Muddy_Walker - I missed you there! Yes indeed the body does indeed know when it's been poisoned! I've unfortunately had a few times in my life probably because I love food adventuring! - the most memorable being the night before I was going to board a plan to go to uni for the first time! We went out to a favorite Lebanese place where I of course gorged on humus (the culprit) and pita! Ended up in the hospital where they gave me a shot of something like Gravol, and luckily the airline took pity and rescheduled my flight for free for later in the day! I was very very groggy but luckily got to spend a few days with a favourite aunt (msrip) where I was coddled and given gripe water and lots of love before actually travelling on to uni!

As I understand it, antibac gel doesn't work on Norovirus, but it sounds as though you are using multiple lines of defence which should definitely reduce your chances of getting it. Incidentally, do you have a recommended heavy-duty hand cream? I'm looking for the perfect thing for travel and while nice-smelling ones are fun, they aren't always that effective and can be too highly scented.
I have been out and about a lot over the last few days so I'm hoping I've not caught anything. We'll see.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

@themadvix - haha - this has been another weekend of catchup - major deadlines looming and with all the health challenges this past month, I've not kept up properly with them! Also normal laundry is being done, double loads mean a longer drying time so dehumidifier is on full, which means the added bonus of the house being toastie!
@Cherryfudge - still pretty worn out if truth be told! Upon reflection it's been a rough month healthwise so February can only get better - bring on Spring I say. The hand-sanitizer & cream that I'm partial too are Ecohydra, anti-bacterial & anti-microbial from what I understand. That cream is not my favorite though, as I'm partial to highly scented and thick textures. Across the pond I'd purchase udder budder or bag balm for the shear effectiveness on dry chapped skin but then again our winters were always much harsher & skin suffered in the cold dry air. Here in the UK I'm partial to the intensive shea butter cream from l'occitane, which I get my French friends to pick up when they go home for visits or for the best home grown UK product, Welshlavendar's farmer's hand cream. Oooh, lovely lot of possible hand creams to look at there, thanks! I had forgotten about the udder cream but I've seen a version of it for sale online. The lavender sounds good too: a nice foot cream is a game changer, though at present I'm using up some aqueous cream and it's both super-cheap and apparently effective.
I can understand you feeling washed out, it must have knocked you for six. I hope this week sees you going from strength to strength.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
