@Cherryfudge - OH sends his thanks for the birthday wishes! - We saved the lovely meal out for another time when he's feeling up to a proper meal.
@beanielou - haha - that made me chuckle! - he can be a gem - but nothing wee about him - he's a good foot taller than me & built like a Viking! - though he's mostly grey now, once upon a time he had a head of long blond hair and a ginger beard! Definitely some Nordic genes there.
So this week's update will be short and sweet - Let's just gloss over HEALTH, WEALTH & HAPPINESS and get to the last one.
GRATITUDE - I survived 18+ hours of food poisoning and a temperature of 39.6'C!!! Didn't have to actually go to the hospital in the end - Hooray!
OH says in my fevered delirium, I said something to the effect of 'If you take me to the hospital again, I'll never speak to you ever!' - guess that was threat enough as I got to be ill at home. I managed to get out of bed around noon today, and for my sins, have spent the last 10+ hours rehydrating & doing a few loads of laundry so that there are some clean and dry pjs to wear!
Having lost a whole weekend, I have on reflection been reminded that the better choice is to have poached eggs & buttered toast with jam at home as planned, instead of attempting to be spontaneous (which I am not!) and try the new nibbles menu at the supposedly posh pub!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! @Cherryfudge - it was definitely scary through Saturday night! I'm honestly quite miffed about loosing my downtime as very little got done! Am currently mulling through my head just what I want to say in my e-mail to the venue as there is something off in their kitchen for me to get that sick!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! You may be able to narrow down what caused it if you look at how long after eating you became ill and what your symptoms were, combined with what you ate. Different causes of food poisoning have different onset times.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

OH & I had the same meals for the 3 days proceeding! I'd had nothing since Friday night dinner so the only meal of the weekend for me was the fancy tapas for brunch at the pub. OH has simple taste and didn't fancy anything 'foreign' so had a burger/chips/beer. On the other hand, I had some kind of lamb kofta in tomato sauce with yogurt sauce on the side, pita & a side of greens. I'm the only one that got sick, he was fine!!! Not to be too gross, but judging from what was all over the several PJ sets I ended up laundering on Sunday, it was entirely that meal that was the issue! Yesterday I was on liquids for the day after a half hearted attempt at some toasted bread did not go well!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! rt - don't you have the option to report a case of suspected food poisoning to your local food safety team at the local council? If you complain to the pub, who knows if it was just 'unlucky' you, or lots of people who were affected? If it is an 'isolated' incident, then the council will probably take no action - but what if others have complained?
Glad you're feeling better - not so good about the additional laundry, but definitely better out than in with nasty bacteria.

I think you should mention it to the pub as well. Don't mention that you're reporting it and see how they respond. It'll give you an idea of how they're going to run their business.
Hope you manage to keep something down today!5
