Where there is any conflict between these Specific Terms and the General Terms, the Specific Terms shall prevail.

 

 

1.ENTRY ROUTES AND COSTS

This is a shared prize across the selected Hits Radio stations.  

 

 Entries are restricted to one (1) per person. Entrants must be over the age of 18 years old. Valid ID will be required.

2.COMPETITION MECHANIC AND HOW TO WIN

In total, there will be 4 [four] winners throughout the week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, each winning either Prize One [1] or Prize Two [2] (as described in 5. The Prize) on The Hits Evening Show (between 19:00 – 22:00) with Sam Thompson.  

 

To be eligible to win, entrants must go online to hitsradio.co.uk (See 1 Entry Route and Costs) and tell us the following details: 

• Full name 
• Contact details 
• Select your specialist subject
• Correctly answer the online entry questions

 

Successful entrants will then be pooled and chosen by randomised computer selection at the times listed below. They will be brought to air where to the prize they will need to:

·      Correctly answer questions and earn as many points than any competing caller throughout the week:

·      If a caller correctly earns more points from questions than the others throughout the week will be announced as the grand prize winner, winning Prize Two [2].

·      If the caller doesn’t earn more points from the questions than the other callers throughout the week, then they will only win Prize One [1].

·      The full game mechanic will be explained on-air by the presenter but here is how it will work:

·      Firstly, the Entrant will be asked an off-air tie breaker question which will only be revealed on Thursday’s show should anyone tie during the week.

·      An Entrant will be brought to air

·      They will have 40 seconds to answer as many questions as possible, earning them as many points as possible.

·      The caller can choose between a ‘Nice’ question of their chosen topic as submitted through the entry from, or a ‘Naughty’ question as written by the Hits Radio production team

·      ‘Nice’ questions are worth 1 point for each correctly answered question

·      ‘Naughty’ questions will be worth 3 points for each correctly answered question

·      At the end of the 40 seconds, the presenter will announce the total points the listener has.

·      On Thursday’s show, the presenter will announce the Grand winner, who will win Prize Two [2]. All other Entrants will win Prize One [1] A-D.

 

Entrants will be selected at the following given times. For each of the competition rounds: 

 

• Round 01 – due to broadcast 19:00 – 22:00 Monday 04 November – will be selected at 9:00 AM on Monday 04 November. All entries up until this time where an entrant has correctly answered the question will be eligible for selection.

• Round 02 – due to broadcast 19:00 – 22:00 Tuesday 05 November – will be selected at 9:00 AM on Tuesday 05 November. All entries up until this time where an entrant has correctly answered the question will be eligible for selection.

• Round 03 – due to broadcast 19:00 – 22:00 Wednesday 06 November – will be selected at 09:00 AM on Tuesday 05 November. All entries up until this time where an entrant has correctly answered the question will be eligible for selection. 
•  
• Round 04 – due to broadcast 19:00 – 22:00 Thursday 07 November – will be selected at 09:00 AM on Wednesday 06 November. All entries up until this time where an entrant has correctly answered the question will be eligible for selection. Once this selection has been made, the competition will close. 

 

Entrants chosen to join Sam Thompson for the competition will only be deemed the winner once they are explicitly told they’ve won.  

 

The Hits Radio production team reserve the right to pre-record any part of this competition with contestants before the 'as-live' broadcast.  

 

Entering online does not guarantee you will be invited to play the game or win the prize.  

 

All final decisions will rest with the Hits Radio production team. 

 

3. ENTRY PERIOD

Entries must be submitted during the following entry period: 

 

Online Pre-registration: From 00:01 AM Thursday 31th October 2024 (the “Start Time”) to 09:00 AM Wednesday 6th November 2024 (“End Time”). 

 

On-air Competition: From 04/11/2024 – 07/11/2024 each day an Entrant will be brought to air during the Evening Show with Sam Thompson between 19:00 – 22:00. The on-air Entrant will be given information of when the exact date timings will be ahead of being brought to air. This may also be pre-recorded in advance of going on-air and again, the Entrant will be informed of the time they’ll be expected to partake. 

 

Entries received before the Start Time or after the End Time will be invalid.  

 

Winner Announcement.  

The winner announcements will take place each day between 04/11/24 and 07/11/24 during the Evening Show with Sam Thompson on the Hits Radio Network of stations. 

4. ENTRY RESTRICTIONS

• Open to UK residents aged 18 years or over on date of entry.
• One entry per person.
• Our employees (and their family members) or employees of any company involved in the Competition, including any Prize Provider, are not permitted to enter.

You also agree that we may film, record or photograph you in connection with the competition and /or the Prize if applicable. We will own these films, recordings or photographs and we may use them publicly, including on the internet, for our radio broadcasts and/or for any promotional purposes. You will also have waived any moral rights or right to payment that you may have had.

 

3.           MISCELLANEOUS.

 

• Entries which do not comply with these Terms or the General Competition Terms and Conditions will not be accepted and any entries may be disqualified if we have any reason to suspect that there is a breach of, or non-compliance with, these Terms.
• Where a competition mechanic involves the answering of questions, the correct answers to questions must match our answers to win (or be sufficiently close in our sole reasonable opinion) to be acceptable. In the event of any dispute about any answers given and whether they are correct, we reserve the right to amend what we deem a correct answer, however we are not obliged to, and our decision in either case is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• We are not responsible if you fail to get through when you call / text to enter, or if you lose signal during a call.
• You are responsible for all costs of entry and where necessary, obtaining the bill payer’s permission. Please refer to your tariff with your network provider for information about charges you may incur for entry into our competitions via any SMS or phone call entry route.
