My friends Son did this one and said it was fantastic, but may not meet all your requirements.carly said:Can anyone recommend a tour operator for an escorted tour to Japan ? Loads of brilliant info on the real Japan website including recommended tour booking sites.1 -
We did our own tour in early 2020 which was great. We did Hakone, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima and Fukuoka mostly on the bullet train. You can buy a pass. We then flew to Hong Kong for the weekend and back to Tokyo for five days before heading home. We traveled really light and stayed in airbnbs so we could do our washing on the way. Jules Verne does similar trips staying at hotels. It’s quite expensive but similar prices to the other ones recommended.1

We went to China a few years back with Wendy Wu Tours - very professionally conducted etc., would have absolutely no reservations in doing Japan with them.

April may be too late for cherry blossom unless you are visiting the North.

Signature on holiday for two weeks1 -
There is a well respected lady on another site who has been 4 times - this is the write up she did for the first visit. She will also answer questions on the forum or by private message. I believe she travelled with Inside Japan.
