Octopus - new tariff and manual meter readings?
Currently, Octopus sends a monthly reminder email to submit meter readings around the 10th of the month. I submit mine manually around the 20th of the month.
I've noticed if signing up for a new tariff, it says you have to submit monthly readings via a link they'll send via an email.
Does anyone know if you need to use their link or can things be as they currently are?
Thanks.

Do you submit them via the app/website, or phone?boco803 said:Currently, Octopus sends a monthly reminder email to submit meter readings around the 10th of the month. I submit mine manually around the 20th of the month.
You have to submit every month, you do not specifically have to do it via the link, which just sends you to the website/app. You will also be required to have a smart meter submitted, which once installed will remove the need to submit readings, making life easier all round.boco803 said:I've noticed if signing up for a new tariff, it says you have to submit monthly readings via a link they'll send via an email.Does anyone know if you need to use their link or can things be as they currently are? Thanks.

I am with Octopus and switch tariff a month ago
I also get reminder emails too and the last one 2 days ago is no different than the usual, it says nothing about change of method in submitting readings
I give them readings every 1st of the month and they give me a bill up to the day before
I give them the readings through the normal channel either the app of my account via a browser
This has not changed in the last 19 months

Not necessarily so. Obviously necessary for ToU tariffs such as Agile and Tracker, but not for others.MattMattMattUK said:

My email reminder also has a link but it just takes me to the app.
I changed tariff and did not need to have a smart meter#662 -
Thanks for your replies everyone.Indeed, not concerned about the smart meter aspect. So essentially, I can continue as I have been, ignoring their request to submit via emailed link and can submit at anytime during the month - every month (as is currently the case)?0

But isn't it easier just to go with the flow?0
