Hi everyone,

Just sharing my experience in case it helps someone else. Over two months ago, I enrolled in a course with Learndirect and paid £2,500. Sadly, due to personal reasons, I had to cancel within the 14-day cooling-off period. I assumed the refund would be straightforward as there policy says refunds will be issued in 30 days, but I’ve been struggling ever since.

I’ve sent several emails, made countless phone calls, and tried live chat—all I get is the same response that my refund request is “with the refund team,” who apparently aren’t customer-facing. This has been ongoing for weeks, and I’m getting nowhere.

After checking Trustpilot, I noticed others facing the same issue, with some suggesting Learndirect might be in financial trouble. Staff seem unwilling to provide clear answers. Just a heads up if you’re considering them!

The first attempt on any dispute is a chargeback, assuming scheme rules haven't been broken, and thats the same for a debit and credit card.

As long as you've evidence of the cancellation, and ideally their confirmation that the refund is due, then its hopefully just a process to go through.
  • @DullGreyGuy Thank you, I did think all the protection was with Credit cards and not Debit - every day a school day. I’ve log it with Barclays now so fingers crossed they can sort it. I have proof of cancellation within the 14 days and they have approved it, its over two months now so a long time to keep my money.
