I have tried contacting them already, just took ages to pick up. Am going to try again.

True, but again, it really needs to be clear across their website that this is what should be done. I wasn't told to do this when I was on the phone to store A. It also doesn't say that failure to do this means you have to pay the cost of the test.Ergates said:
That mentions transferring records to other stores - i.e. moving between stores - rather than having a test in one location and a subscription from another.sheramber said:https://www.specsavers.co.uk/help-and-faqs/can-i-use-other-specsavers-stores
Can I use other Specsavers stores?
Yes, we can transfer your records to any Specsavers store to ensure your details are kept up to date. If you are wanting to use a different store, please let us know by providing your current store details, the store you are looking to visit and any dates if applicable here.

Why don't you just switch your store? If you never go to Store A / it's more convenient to go to Store B then why not just move?0

Most of the year, Store A is more convenient. Store B is where my university was. I went there during uni, but came back to visit some friends for the week and the appointment at store B ended up being the more convenient appointment when looking across store A and store B. It was never a problem before so assumed it wouldn't be a problem this timeEmmia said:Why don't you just switch your store? So they called me back and I asked about it. It is because they are a franchise. I tried to push about the terms and conditions not stating this and basically he just said that it would apply to any of the stores (so dodged it, which I don't blame him for. He won't be reasonable for what we've been told).
He said I can transfer store at my appointment but will need to make sure this doesn't inconvenience me at all. The fact I haven't had an issue before suggests something has changed recently yet haven't been told. However, if the process of transferring stores is straight forward, it shouldn't be too much of an issue.
There is also a chance the store is wrong and doing the wrong policy so I have asked the general Specsavers customer service as well.

Like many franchises they can be part of a larger group, so might have been part of same overall franchise group. Now they have off loaded some?
I know our local one used to have others, but sold them on.Life in the slow lane0 -
Due to their location, I highly doubt they were ever part of the same franchise group.born_again said:

In the end, having to transfer might not be a big deal, but not being warned about it anywhere apart from a voicemail the day before is just another small annoyance that I've had with Specsavers. May have a look to see what else is available near me.0 -
And the general customer service agent has said that the checks have to be at the store that your subscription is registered with, which is not anywhere in the terms and conditions. Don't know about you, but seems at least a bit misleading to exclude this information.0

Specsavers did this to me a few years ago - I did the same, using two stores at uni, which they seemed fine with. Carried on when I graduated for two years, all fine. Then suddenly I needed to pick one or the other.
Specsavers overall customer services said it was down to store discretion, so I ended up transferring to the store near to work for a bit; but overall then just went to Vision Express instead.Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0
