2gether Breakdown cover
Options
I have had a terrible experience with 2gether.
My wife and 2 kids had a tyre blowout in motorway on Monday. Was on hold for 80 minutes only to be told by a rude call handler as it’s a day camper it is not valid and the insurance is voided.
I have checked the policy and can not see this mentioned at all. Any advice please? I did email them asking to show me where it states it’s not covered and surprise surprise I’ve been ignored.
help please I’m now £500 out of pocket due to emergency tyre fitter call out

Sorry, but I think they're in the right here. You simply had the wrong cover for your requirements.
£500 to take the flat tyre off and put the spare on does seem steep, though.
Here's the breakdown cover wording.

Please note that for the purposes of this policy the DVLA classification of the vehicle is not definitive."

their website lists them as a "specialist vehicle and breakdown" company?

They certainly do cover campervans, though it's not clear if the OP had this on their policy?
Also what is a day van? could that be the crucial difference here?
from their website:Campervan & Motorhome
Whether a classic Volkswagen, or self-built conversion, 2Gether have specialist policies to accommodate your vehicle and the needs of your insurance.
I'm assuming a "day camper" is a kind of converted van, rather than a original camper? The sort you see people parked up in Tesco car parks at night?
EIther way the site suggested that a "self built conversion" could be covered? The devil is in the detail though - depends what the OP's exact policy covers?
