Woke up to a grey and murky morning with drizzly rain.My hotel breakfast was tasty and filling. The was a large contingent of men from an engineering company in who swooped in at the same time as me, luckily I had ordered fried eggs so didn't get into the melee. Mind you, they were all very polite and quiet. Again I enjoyed my bus trip home so decided to book for Sunday when I'm going down to meet up with one of my nephews and my niece for mt belated birthday treat. For now I'm about to do an unexpected trip to Oban, just need a coffee first.@Snoozer - I hope that Laura's passport arrived as promised and she has got away to join the rest of the family.Hugs to our poorlies.11

Good morning Gers, and all to follow.
It's dry here, and mildish. Pity we couldn't have had this dry weather in the spring/ summer instead of the incessant rain.
I didn't seem to get much done yesterday, must try harder today. I'm not planning to go out.
I'm going to make a Christmas cake using mincemeat that I made last year, I found a recipe in an old magazine. That's one thing I did do, get loads of old mags out of a cupboard to pass on. Of course I made the mistake of starting to go through them, no wonder I didn't get much done.
Usually I have a cake and puddings made by now, I'm so late this year.
So that's the plan for today, make a cake, and stop sitting about reading old magazines.
Hope everyone is all right and managed to have a good day. Take care folks.12 -
Morning GERS and all to follow. It seems we are going to have a bit of a drab day after some days of sun, but staying mild.
I actually made a start on gift buying yesterday. All in one shop! It's DS's DP's 50th next week and, as she has a jewellers and gift shop. it's difficult to come up with something she can't supply herself with! I decided to take the bus to Ilkley for a browse in the Yorkshire Soap Company shop where I got her a nice selection of stuff. And also a few more items to make a late start off my stocking filler buys. Not a cheap shop but they have such lovely stuff, some of it looks good enough to eat!
Today should be a day of catch up but I will doubtless get budget watching and see what else they are going to deprive us of. And I must fit in a tidy of the freezer as the messy elf has been at it again and there is stuff rammed anywhere but where it should be!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, fed up or sad. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -

Morning all
Bdog and I are off to N Wales 🏴 for a few days and meeting with very good friends tomorrow or Friday too - weather forecast looks grey but mild.Trying to ignore the fact that there is a shed load of jobs to do at home both indoor and out - plus craft stuff to restock and working at least part of every day next week invigilating for exams! Oh well - a bit of dust and cobwebs won’t harm for a while!!?
hope everyone enjoys the middle and end of their week

Morning Gers and all who follow.
Yesterday was a glorious autumnal day, lots of sunshine. I did my weekly shop at A*da as they went me an offer on the app for £5 in my xmas cashpot when I spent £40. Of course I couldn't resist as I only had £6 in there so far. The extra will go towards a joint of meat when their on offer. I don't use that supermarket often even though it's local as shall we say it's not the best.
Today's plan is to go through my tins cupboard as I know there's things in there coming up to their bbd. Yesterday I made a chilli with a tin of chopped tomatoes (ood) and one of kidney beans (ditto). Added a packet of seasoning so felt very virtuous. Just the rest to go through now, although in reality I'll be listening to the budget to see how much better off I'm going to be (haha).
Have a good day all, happy birthday to Mr Chrisca x11 -
Morning all
Dry here for now although it’s dull and overcast we are due some sun later which will be nice. I’m off to collect Rob today and take him to work in the cafe where we will probably do some baking, they have the halloween events on this week which he will love so will go and have a look at that.
Dinner tonight will be spag bol so nice and quick to make, I have to do some shopping later too I will run in for my supermarket sweep (always makes me think of TA 😂) on the way home.
Happy Birthday to Mr Chrisca xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Good morning all
Thank you for the start Gers
Nothing happening here. I like the lighter mornings but the evenings seem so long when it gets dark so early.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.9 -
Morning all, dull & grey but not raining atm. Happy cake making Scarlet. I always used to make a CCake, but none of our guests on the day seem to eat it, DSons certainly don't so I stopped a few years ago.I was missing again yesterday,1st an early trip to the vets, Ly1adog has urine infection so needed antib's but can't be collected until later today. We hadn't met this vet before but she was very good and thorough. Once back home I went to DS2s looking after DGC. We went in town to our favourite cafe for lunch, then a roundabout bus trip back home as we missed ours. DH was back when we got there and we ran the kids home. Same again with the DGC, think we're having another bus trip to the next town where the shops are better. I think DGD friend is coming too, DGS not too thrilled at being outnumbered by the 2 girls but he can sit with me and talk football
DS2 had a beef stew going in his sc yesterday, funnily enough we had that too but out of the freezer.
Better go and get ready so will wish you all a good day x
