Fittings insurance

I know you have a previous thread on this but it doesn't cover my situation. I am a leaseholder in a block of flats. Our fittings are covered under buildings insurance but the excess is £800. This is fine for the building but in essence unless there's a fire or catastrophic flood, we are paying the full cost of replacing basins, sinks, hobs, or units that are damaged by fire, water leakage, or accident ourselves. I would prefer to get separate fittings cover myself but it seems it isn't available. Any suggestions?

Tenants Improvement is sometimes built into Contents or is an optional extra, its really intended to deal with the fact that the freeholder's insurance covers to return the property back to original status (eg plain painted plasterboard walls) whereas you may have spent thousands putting up some exotic wood panelling or a Roundhouse Kitchen with SubZero/Wolf appliances and dont want a Howdens kitchen.
You'd need to read the particular terms but it MAY also cover the gap between fixture and fittings you haven't updated that aren't covered because of the excess of the block insurance. That said, if you take the average Home excess of £300 making a claim under £800 on it so a maximum £500 payout is going to be questionable if its economically sensible to make such claims considering the extra premium for the coverage plus the increased premiums for making a claim.0
