Medical insurance

I have a probkem with medical insurance, very complicated so il try and be brief. I had very serious complications at a private hospital ten years ago ( who didn’t want to know). My medical insurance increased massively and it’s now unsustainable. They’ve advised me to cancel policy and come back as a new customer but all my pre existing conditions will be excluded, I’m ok with that as I’ve such a complex history now it’s unlikely I’d have any major surgery at a private hospital. My worry is disentangling what has caused what , I’m worried they’ll say my existing health problems could in theory contribute to anything in the future as it affects my immunity. I live in very rural west wales and there is no expertise here in my condition and I’m worried il be written off!
Anyone been in a similar position please.
