Have you looked at all the documents on the planning application, Because you  all the highways recommendations and environmental impact reports were already there for us to see. We didn’t necessarily agree with them, but they were there.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

No planning experience, but I would say make sure you establish what criteria will be used in making the decision, and tailor your points to match.

No point in going on for 3 minutes about something that you are passionate about if it's not going to influence the decision, when there are other issues you could have raised that might.

The comment about only 3 minutes for all objectors to voice their concerns seems unlikely.  There could be objections from multiple people who couldn't possibly get their points across if they literally had a few seconds to speak.

We had the amount of available time split between people who wanted to speak. Can't remember how long that was - a few minutes each though.

Typically the council's constitution will set out how many people can speak on an item at a planning meeting and how the time available is allotted, but the chair usually has some discretion to allow more time/extra speakers.  If there are multiple objectors there's usually some encouragement for them to agree on one spokesperson (there's no point having several people saying exactly the same thing) - and on a few occasions I've known the objectors to be asked to draw lots on who can speak when they couldn't agree amongst themselves.

In other words, it will probably depend on the council and the way the chair wants to do things on the night.
