Facebook issues

Afternoon all

The past day or so, my ability to interact with discussions and the like on Facebook have hit what appears to be an impasse.
When I've tried to initiate a new discussion on a page, the pop up screen shows, but doesn't open, yet I can post a comment on a discussion.
Also, I now have to open a reel in a new window instead of just clicking on it and it opens straight up and plays in the existing page.
Lastly, when I watch a video, and an ad says it's about to be shown, it doesn't show, and the video pauses with me not being able to get it started again.
I have logged out of Facebook, and logged back in again without any of this changing, and it's still the same when I start my PC back up.
Wierdly, it's the same on my laptop, but not apparently on my phone or Kindle when I've just checked.
Any thoughts or suggestions on what might be wrong and how I can resolve it all please ?

This sort of thing is usually caused by an extension as you've mentioned adverts.  If you have UBlock or Ad-Block or similar installed, disable/remove it.

I've no ad-blocker in use, and would that account for me not being able to start a disussion on a page ?
I'm asking 'cos I've no idea what they can or can't do.

What browser are you using?

For Firefox try this, if the problem fixes itself you have an extension installed that's causing your problem(s):

The fact it works fine on your phone/Kindle suggests is not a Facebook account issue.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I'm using Chrome, so tried what you posted, with no changes.
Opened FB in Edge, and had the same issues.

One thing I forgot to mention, when watching a video, and I want to enlarge the video, using the diagonal arrows button, it opens up a new page in the same tab as usual, but nothing happens.

Reels are now opening up on the same page though !

Back on to my PC, and it's back to normal, go figure !!!
