MET parking at KFC Gatwick airport Lease vehicle

Hello,
I am looking for some advice, I have read through the newbie thread and a number of threads on here and want to check which of the options is my best route to success.

Background:

I received an email containing a packing charge final reminder from my hire company detailing the vehicle for which I am the lease contract holder for which there are two drivers (both drivers reside at the same address)

Called the lease company to inform them I wish to appeal and not the pay the fine, they informed me that was okay and they would log it as going to appeal. Upon further questioning they said this is the first letter they had received however the date of incident was 06/09/2024 and 'reminder' is dated 16/10/2024. The lease company have no letter dated prior to this however the letter from MET alleges the parking charge date as the 11/09/2024.
The lease company informed me they have now passed my details onto MET parking.

MET Parking's letter claims to be a reminder and that now the charge is overdue and can no longer be appealed and refers to failure to validate stay in the car park.

MET are registered with BPA and from google images I can see they have used large lettering on signs which appear to comply with the rules on signage and also there are barriers at the entrance and exit of the car park so cannot use the clear boundaries defense.

Questions/Options:
Should I go to METs website now and appeal on the registered keeper grounds now using one of the standard templates in the newbie thread or that they did not inform the lease company within 14 days.

Is the 14 day defense workable given the lease company have now pass my details to MET. i.e. does the 14days reset? and therefore should I wait to see if MET now contact myself via post and what is the time frame for them to now do this - is it 14 or 21 days?

Should I regardless of timeframe appeal on the airport land grounds as the carpark does fall within the airport boundary and therefore do MET have authority to issue fines there?

I have appealed to KFC to instruct MET to drop the charge and I am yet to hear back but I am not holding my breath as there is only a generic contact info available to submit to.

Thankyou very much for your help with this £100 charge for a less than 15 minute stay just appears outrageous.

Good. Wait for your NTH.  Then and only then, appeal as hirer using the Edna_Basher appeal for hire/lease cars (lower in the first post of the NEWBIES thread).
