6 years question

Options
Hi,

Think I know the answer to this but the rule of marks on credit reports coming off after 6 years, is this 6 years after each individual mark?

I.e. if someone had an AP marker for every month of 2019, would the first marker for Jan 2019 clear in Jan 2025, leaving 11 markers left over etc until they are all cleared at the end of 2025?

I presume that is the answer, just checking?

Thanks

  • Actually I've just discovered an account with AP markers but the marker was more than 6 years (closer to 7), so I guess then all markers stay on the account until the whole account drops off 6 years after being settled?

That is correct, unless the account then defaults at some point, in which case the default takes precedence.
