Bridlington hospital Group Nexus fine

Hi
has anyone been able to obtain cancellation of a fine due to personal circumstances?

Basically my mother on law had been in the above hospital, which is a rehab hospital, and I had visited one weekend and used the parking machines as advised.  The following weekend I was told that my mother in law was end of life and I drove from Birmingham to Bridlington not knowing what to expect.  i was extremely anxious both before and after visiting her.  On that visit i drove straight out of the car park and then realised I hadn't paid.  i returned within minutes to see if I could pay, but obviously you can't once you have exited the car park.  i rang the emergency number advertised and was told that the only thing I could do was send an email to group nexus, which I did, explaining the extreme circumstances.

I have now received a fine and wanting to contest it.  Do you think it is worth it?

Also prior to using this car park, we used Scarborough hospital car park, operated by Nexus and this has a barrier to stop you exiting without paying.

thanks

    It is not a fine.

Plan A is a complaint to PALS and the head of the hospital trust and your MP.

Remind them all of their obligation to abide by the government's parking principles.

    Always.  By complaining to PALS.

    You don't have a fine.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
