BT Openworld Login Problem

I'm trying to set up a new iPad for a friend. She has a btopenworld.com email working on her imac.
We got in a muddle trying to work out which password we needed from a mysterious list she has. After several goes we now seem to be locked out by BT. If I try to log in here
it says "Your account is temporarily blocked. Please retry in 20 minutes."
After leaving it for an hour or two, I get this same message.
How should I try to resolve this?

I believe that the password for Openworld is a different one to the password for your BT account, had you used the wrong one?See if this helps: https://community.bt.com/t5/Email/quot-Your-account-is-temporarily-locked-quot/td-p/2359032In particular the post by garyvinnyrigby1961 made on 02-07-2024: https://community.bt.com/t5/Email/quot-Your-account-is-temporarily-locked-quot/m-p/2392309#M115209If that doesn't work then I think that you are going to need to contact BT support to get it unlocked again.

The password is the problem I think. She has several written down on a piece of paper, but with little to sort out which is for what. From the Mac I can see how many characters the password has, but unfortunately about six of the possibilities are this length. Thanks also for the two links - I'll try to get through to BT, or EE as it has changed to, later and I'll report back in case it helps anyone else with the same kind of problem.0

If the mac still works then you should be able to find the password , probably, but mac is not in my portfolio 😩4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 + Octopus Intelligent Flux leccy1

You can find old passwords associated with log ins if they have been saved in the keychain.Use "keychain access" to find themThere are videos/guides online that will walk you through the processThings that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid1

Thanks all, I've managed to find the password in the key chain as suggested by oldernonethewiser and that has been accepted on the ipad so that emails are now up and running there.
