Good afternoon (just) from a sunny Mehefinland
Another one here whose internal clock is stuffed by the time change. Doesn't help as I was worrying all night about the horse feed situation and trying to think of ways around it.
I popped up to see if there was any news with the wee dog just now, and he came back home last night about 9.00pm. He was walking around with the old lampshade collar thingy on but otherwise seemed quite perky. A relief to say the least. Several of you asked how I coped - well you just get on with it really. Once had a mare that was kicked and had an arterial bleed, and common sense and a bit of first aid training licked in. Stop the bleed with pressure, call vet. It was a bit fraught at the time as she had been kicked elsewhere which was somewhere I couldn't fix ( some of you may remember the tale) . Poor vet had to go home and shower and change after she had patched the old girl up.- she was covered ( as was I to be honest). Not an experience I would care to repeat BUT when the chips are down you just get on with it. Dawn was quite happy delving around in animal stuff, but if she had cut herself the wuss mode came on PDQ.
Started clearing out the barn of old hay etc this morning as I need to find room for extra shavings , and now hay as a result of yesterday's conversation. You don't realise just how much gets tucked into odd corners until you start clearing it. Shattered after 2 hours worth and only just reached the tip of this particular iceberg.
Car off for MOT tomorrow- that's another bundle of joy to look forward to. At least the weather is settled and reasonably dry today, although tomorrow doesn't look too good atm
Hugs and spoons as always
