Good morning, seems fine outside.
I don't appreciate the 'extra hour' in bed because I wake early anyway whatever the clock says!
The show we went to see yesterday was really good, and I won the raffle! A large fruit arrangement, so we'll have to work our way through that. It was a surprise, I never win anything normally.
Not such a nice surprise was that something went wrong with the double oven and it's not working, dh is going to pull it out today to see if he can do anything. It's only 5 years old, but it's not a particularly good oven, I had to buy an oven thermometer because the settings on the oven were often out by a long way and I didn't trust it.
Hope you feel better today Remmie, take it easy.
Thoughts to anyone else who is under the weather, take care folks.

Morning, thanks for starting us Scarlet, and for the good wishes, been up for a while as my nose is so bunged up I can't sleep. Also a headache as well.
Yesterday was spent doing nothing at all and today will be the same. OH is fussing around me in his own way, bless him, it's so unusual for me to be poorly he doesn't really know what to do.
No idea what's for dinner, a day of what we fancy.
Take care folks x

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET - my fellow poor sleeper!! Today we are promised another lovely day and the sun is trying it's best to rise up above the moors. I just wish I could tramp across them like I once could.
The only plan for today is shopping with DS at some point. Running shoes at the ready! No matter how quick I try to be he always manages to check out before I do!
Thank you WEENANCY for the info. The FamilySearch.org website seems to have changed since I was last on it and I was still finding my feet again on there yesterday.. It was extremely useful when I was searching my maternal grandma's ancestors quite a few years back and I got in touch with distant relatives both here and in the USA.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Good morning all. Thanks for starting us off @Scarlet. Lovely to win such a lot of fruit but sorry about your oven, I hope there's an easy fix for it.No stars last night, the clouds were thick and low.Yesterday I went up to the wee cafe at the marina for a fresh out of the oven loaf, there was one single still warm danish pastry which looked so forlon and inviting I had to have that too. ☺️ The pastry was wolfed down for breakfast whilst the loaf is now waiting to be cut up, it was too fresh yesterday. I also boiled six eggs which were on the edge of being wasted, they're chopped up and in the fridge and my final burst of anything useful was to do a delicate wash of bras and tights.I've got a couple of savings accounts maturing this month which means I need to find new homes for them. Time drifts by when exploring boring lists of available accounts to get a good return. Eventually I settled on some which made me happy without too much shifting around. Then I went to bed to watch SCD, it was a good show this time.Hugs all round to poorlies, those who are dealing with others, those who are dealing with upheaval and those who are dealing with life in general.13

Morning all. Bright and sunny here this morning.
Last night's Ale was smaller in number than anticipated but still great fun, although the chilli did give me a bit of heartburn when I went to bed. Good to catch up with old friends and make a few new ones.
Today we will have to catch up with SCM, before tonight's results show. I also need some green veg for dinner so will go to the SM whilst it's quiet. We also got the Christmas things down from the loft and have decided to cut right back on cards this year. DH has made a list of those to send within his family and will email the remainder. I must sit down and do something similar.
I hope everyone's day goes to plan;, best wishes to all the poorlies.14 -
Morning everyone
Yesterday was nice and sunny so I got a load of washing dry. Today looks like being the same so I'll put the nursery aprons in to wash and then get them outside.
Had a lovely afternoon with little one - we carved a pumpkin - I had bought some colour changing fake candles to go inside which she was fascinated by. She also did some junk modelling and talked and talked. She is very proud of herself for standing up and speaking in assembly and said everyone clapped her at the end.
DD picked her up about 7pm - she is still not eating much and only plain food for a couple of days, after her tummy upset. I think she's coming back up this afternoon again.
The switch on my thermostat is stuck down again, it was only fixed a month ago, so I've rang and reported it. The last time it took about a minute to fix it! I'll set the timer once it's sorted so I don't need to use the switch. So I'm not sure if I'll get to mam and dads this morning, though I was there yesterday.
Derek..I had just bitten into my crumpet when I read your post...I don't know hoe you coped with that...just reading about it made me feel queasy!
Right best get on - hope everyone has a good day today x12 -
Morning everyone it’s bright but chilly I have hung some bedding out got yesterday’s washing dry so hopefully todays will be the same . I’m another that is a poor sleeper and if I can get to sleep I never manage to last 3 o clock is the witching hour for me I thought I had done well this morning it was 4 but then realised I hadn’t put the clock back damn . We had a good night at the pumpkin walk it was lovely and had lots of themes from woodland animals to dinosaurs but my favourite was the wizard of oz . Derek I would have been no good I don’t know how you coped with that I would have been hysterical then fainted I think . Remmie hope you feel better soon Scarlet I’ve never been happy with the oven I’ve got now sometimes it will cook things on the lower shelf and sometimes it won’t I can’t afford a new one but I wish it would hurry up and give up so I could get a new one I will just keep saving. I’ve got a beef joint in the oven veg to do youngest son is coming up soon to try and talk me into been a marshal at a Halloween run he is doing Wednesday night he’s Freddy Kruger I’ve said no but what’s the betting I end up freezing cold stuck in the middle of a forest surrounded by zombies I’m to soft . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all, I'll try again to post as the tab crashed and I lost my 1st one. Lovely day today but 6 deg. I was awake early but stayed put for a bit.At least Ly1adog walked without stopping, she hates the cars with oncoming headlights and stands looking scared sometimes so that was welcome. Derek, that poor dog, must have been awful. Not much on today, now DGD has given up her football we tend to have the day to please ourselves. Of course this means we see her less than we did but she's growing up and wants to see her friends more now.I have some roast beef in the freezer, or some lamb chops - don't think DS1 will be back so we can have either. There has been a lot of to -ing and fro-ing next door but 1, I think the new neighbours have moved in. No idea who they are yet.I passed our menu choices to DB yesterday for DN 21st meal meal, apart from DS2s, so she has messaged him to remind him they need to be in for next Sat.He might take more notice of his little cuz :0TA when we went to the match yesterday, they had the rememberance service on the pitch with the last post. I didn't realise they were doing it then but there are no home games until after RDay. It's always quite moving, and I remember my grans 2 brothers who are buried in France. Good luck with your research, I also have loads of stuff from them, medals, embroidered postcards and handkerchiefs.Take care all, feel better soon Remmie.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all
Nice bright sunny day here one load of washing just finished and I have stripped the beds and got the bedding in the wm we should be able to hang it out today.
Derek that poor dog ☹️ Such a shame - well done for helping xx
Roast beef today and mum is coming up for dinner I have a sticky toffee pudding for afters as she has a very sweet tooth.
I am a terrible sleeper too most nights I’m still awake around 3 and then when I do go off I can’t get up in the morning, I really envy people like OH who can lay his head down and be asleep within seconds.
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Hello all, all the washing almost dried yesterday and I've finished it off on the airer overnight. I started to take the tops off the conifers but Mr Fix It had to take over as some were too tall and I couldn't reach ! They are now lying on the patio waiting to be chopped up and put in the green waste bins.
I rang Dad last night at my usual check in and he was watching the TV in the dark, he never has his big ceiling light off so I wondered why. His answer was he was hiding from the children trick or treating as he thought yesterday was Halloween ! I did have to remind him about the clock change though as he'd forgotten that.
The clock change doesn't sit well with me either and my inner clock is now all to pot. We're getting on with more conifer lopping today but we've stopped for a coffee break so thought I'd post now.
Scarlet enjoy your fruity surprise, shame about the oven, hope it's an easy fix.
Remmie get well soon.
Rosy our DGD is much the same and likes to go with her friends too. Can't get rid of DGS though and he's invited himself to stay tomorrow as DGD is having some friends over for a sleepover. He can't be doing with "giggling, screaming girls" apparently and he's put in his food order already 🤣
Have a good Sunday everyone, hugs to the poorly ones.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Morning allManaged to sleep in until 5.50am which is good for me especially with the clocks going back tooJust put the bird feeders out for the first time this year. Read somewhere that it's a good idea to put a slinky out to deter squirrels which are the bane of my life with bird food hangers and my planters being dug up so watch this space!Complained to a certain water filter company about how their filters don't last as long and the price has rocketed. They have sent me 6 free ones especially for hard water areas so we'll see if they work any betterOoooh that poor doggy and it's eye Mehefin. You must have a strong stomach, I'd have felt quite ill. Good on youHave a good day all x9
