Android Auto. How to play the radio whilst using Google maps?

I know this works because sometimes I switch to Android Auto and it does this be default but I can't see how to make it happen if I already have media playing

Any ideas?

I guess it depends but on mine with Apple Car Play, you just navigate to the radio controls and the radio starts playing - and then press the a Car Play shortcut at the top of the screen to take you back into the map / media controls / etc.  Three clicks.

Without knowing the vehicle that you're driving it's impossible to give precise instructions, but I would be very surprised if it's not a simple sequence of button presses as it is on my Toyota Yaris Hybrid.

Aye its going to vary by car, in mine I can change audio source in steering wheel and on the display itself.

If you have Android Auto running and it is playing audio via an music or podcast app, you stop that media playing select the radio through the normal in car system, then re-start Android Auto.

Same way it has worked in every (dozens) of makes of cars I have driven with Android Auto. The interface may be different but the method is the same.

Yeap everyone was right and just for anyone with same problem. Once you open the map you can change the source to radio. I have a button on the steering wheel, if not you can just use the radio button to change the source. 👍😊

And think I just spent a week's holiday listening to the same songs because I couldn't figure this out. 😣🤦‍♂️
