I have a Capital One Credit card with included Travel Assistance and
Travel Insurance Policy.
I've studied the small print and it would seem to cover everything
that is included in other policies. It doesn't appear to exclude any
existing medical conditions, only saying it excludes claims arising from
trips undertaken against the advice of a medical practicioner.
Has anyone had any experience of claiming against this type of
policy? Does it in fact cover everything you would expect it to?

If you ever try to claim its odds on that they'll find some clause so they don't have to pay out.Krusty & Phil Madoff, 1990 - 2007:

Actually not necessarily true - in my experience this type of policy (I have one free with my bank account) is better at paying out than cheapo paid for policies. Both times I've had to claim it's paid out, promptly, more than I expected - well before before my son got the money from his own, paid-for policy.
Just check what it really covers and in what circumstances - does the trip have to have been paid for with the card, for instance? Does it cover cancellation?0
