Guidelines for Proceeding with Dispute Against DCB Legal

Hi,
I received a letter from DCB Legal requesting payment of a £170 fine. I’ve read the Newbies Thread carefully, followed its guidance, and taken all recommended actions. Despite this, DCB Legal insists the signage was clear and is still demanding payment.

Could anyone advise on my next steps? Here are the key points I’d like to raise:

  • Sign Visibilityour car was parked a bit behind another vehicle, which obstructed the sign and made it difficult to see. Additionally, I parked on the right side and didn’t really notice the sign, as the sign was definitely not in front of us. Their photo appears clear only because of the angle from which it was taken.

Below are the photos I took the other day:

  • Short Parking Duration: I parked for a brief period (10–20 minutes) to pick up groceries, so I wonder if a grace period might apply.

  • Other Vehicles Without Permits: On a recent visit, I took photos showing other cars parked without visible permits, possibly belonging to staff.

Any guidance on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated. Below is DCB Legal’s response along with their photo evidence.

Thank you very much for your help.

Ignore DCB Legal, unless you have a Letter of Claim, or a court claim from them

No point wasting time and energy at the pre court stage, the newbies sticky thread doesn't contain the interim stage, for good reason, it's a nothing stage, neither side budging an inch . UKPC just want you to pay in full, pointless arguing with the monkey trying to obtain the money, neither DCB Legal or UKPC are going to withdraw at this early stage

The time to provide evidence etc is at the WS bundle stage, before the hearing, if it gets that far

So only respond to an LoC as detailed in the newbies sticky thread, order a court claim, nothing else, save your ammunition for when it counts

If you've already responded to a LBC, then clearly the next stage is simply defending the useless court claim when it arrives.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
